New Year’s Eve – can we do it differently this year? 🎆🚫

​When I was a kid, we just had sparklers. No big bangs, just some glittery lights. Then came the era of massive fireworks, and I’ll admit – at first, I loved them. They looked amazing.

​But with time, I started seeing the other side of it. It’s not just about the "pretty lights." It’s about the panic. Wild animals literally die from the stress and the noise. Elderly people, kids, and people with sensory issues also have a really hard time.

​For years, my pets didn't really care. But then Ergo came along, and he showed me what real terror looks like. When the shooting starts, he just loses it. He’s terrified, and even with meds, it’s heartbreaking to watch. Because of that, New Year’s Eve hasn't been a "fun night" for me for a long time.

​Do we really need those loud bangs to celebrate? So many cities are already banning them. Can we, as smart and empathetic people, just find a way to have fun without making others suffer?

​Let’s make it a peaceful night for everyone – for us, for our pets, and for the wildlife. 🐾🤍
