Haplochromis sp. Red back scraper "Entebbe" a Lake Victoria species thought to be extinct. But refound some years ago by a researcher. Luckily I got some fry 2 years ago which now has grown up and started spawning. I got the 3:rd batch yesterday with around 25 fry. Thats a descent amount of fry 👌 I had this species around 15 years ago so im very happy to keep this rare species again. The story of Pseudocrenilabrus sp. "Greyback"

About 6-8 years ago a Canadian collector collected fishes at Lake Mweru, Tanzania. One of the species he caught was this species above. He had like 80 fishes but only 2 specimens survived the trip back. Both fishes were in bad shape, one lost an eye and one lost one fin. He had slim hopes of them so he put them in an aquarium and almost forgotten them. Luckily after a while he saw that the female was holding and after some weeks he had a batch of fry. Theese fry then breed and the species was spread. Some specimens came to Denmark by my friend. He breed them and sold most of them to Germany. About 7-8 months ago I saw this species on a list so I ordered 3+3.

Its them you can see in the film. They are not in full color but I will add a photo in the comments. They are very easy to get spawning and now I have 3 holding females. Last time I lost the fry but this time I will give them living artemia. The story is quite amazing and it was so close they dissapeared from the hobby. New collections from Mweru is very unlikely in the future so we need to cake of this species. Hope some of my followers is interested of them.

Had the oppertunity to take over a small group of this undescribed species caught in Lake Victoria last year by my friend. Its only 2 males and 1 females. With some luck I succed with the breeding. Colors in aquarium should improve alot I think. For now I will call it Haplochromis. Sp Ndurwa. Its not unlikely this species is from the Labrochromis family, time might tell us.
