Yesterday, Soley gave birth to a beautiful mare foal after the great Álfur frá Selfossi 🤩
This is probably the most positive false-negative pregnancy test I've ever received! 🤗
Soley visited Alfur late last season and a negative scan in late October made us believe she didn't get pregnant!
So I took her back in training until late June this year when she started protesting for real and I noticed her mammary glands had grown🤔
So - change of plans - ad libitum feeding, grazzing for herself and just a lot of TLC (tender love and care) 🥰
I didn't know when she might be due but she had been with Alfur until 25 September last year so I've been watching out for the foal since early August 😅 and she must have been at least 2 weeks overdue!
The foal is really a gift; beautiful, calm, curious and all gaits already seen 👌- and on top: curly hair on the back - probably due to her long stay as preborn!
So Lokkadis seems to be an appropriate name!

Also even if we didn't realise the pregnancy was really real until yesterday 👍
