I love how many creative possibilities there are when working with leather. This week, I revisited wet forming—a technique I haven't used since studying Saddlery, when we molded the saddle seat. There's something deeply satisfying about soaking the leather until it's fully pliable, then shaping it around a form and watching it transform.
For this project, I used a simple tin as a mold, shaped the leather using a bone tool, and left it overnight to dry. The way the leather holds its new shape is like magic. The potential for crafting unique, beautiful leather goods with this method is endless, and I’m excited to explore it further.
