Your pup can be a hero when he grows up! Big breeds are great candidates to be blood donors and you can save a life. Veterinary medicine is becoming increasingly sophisticated and offers innovative and exciting ways to prolong and enhance the lives of companion animals. Medical procedures and surgeries, such as emergency and internal medicine, critical care, oncology, and orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery are on the rise. As a result of these advancements, the demand for canine blood transfusions has increased sharply. As such, canine blood donation has become more imperative and topical than ever.

Conditions:

- aged between one and eight years old
- weigh more than 15kg
- not received a blood transfusion themselves
- be healthy and not on medication
- have yearly vaccinations and regular worming and flea treatment
- comfortable and relaxed with people
- have not travelled abroad
- Dirofliaria test negative!

Check your local blood bank, or your local clinic.
