Din nou spre SUA 🇺🇸
✈️ Next stop: Charlotte, North Carolina.

După o noapte grea la spital , în care am crezut ca nu mai termin cu pacienții,într-un final am ajuns la aeroport ,am reușit să mă îmbarc în avion . Zbor spre Statele Unite, unde în următoarele zile voi participa la ACVS Surgery Summit 2026.

Este pentru a treia oară când particip la acest congres și mă bucur că reușesc să mă întorc. Prima dată am fost în 2023 în Louisville, apoi în 2025 în Seattle, iar anul acesta destinația este Charlotte.

ACVS Surgery Summit este unul dintre congresele la care îmi place în mod special să particip dintr-un motiv foarte simplu: este dedicat în totalitate chirurgiei veterinare. Câteva zile în care aproape totul se învârte în jurul chirurgiei — tehnici, cazuri, complicații, tehnologii noi, idei și soluții care pot schimba felul în care abordăm un pacient.

Și, indiferent de câți ani operezi sau de câtă experiență acumulezi, cred că în chirurgie nu ajungi niciodată în punctul în care să spui că nu mai ai ce învăța. Din contră. Cu cât faci mai mult, cu atât înțelegi mai bine cât de multe mai sunt de descoperit.

Pentru mine, astfel de deplasări nu înseamnă doar participarea la un congres. Înseamnă să văd ce este nou, ce fac alții diferit, ce tehnologii apar, ce tehnici pot aduce acasă și ce putem implementa mai departe în practica noastră.

Așa că urmează câteva zile cu multă chirurgie, probabil multe idei noi și, sper eu, câteva lucruri pe care să le aduc înapoi în România .

A treia participare la ACVS Surgery Summit.
Louisville 2023 → Seattle 2025 → Charlotte 2026.

Cred că acesta este unul dintre lucrurile extraordinare ale meseriei noastre și toate poveștile se măsoară în operații, diagnostice sau tratamente.
Unele povești cu pacienții noștri nu se termină niciodată. Doar mai adaugă câte un capitol.

Ea este Asha. Are 14 ani și este o pisică Bengaleză pe care o cunosc de foarte mult timp.Dar povestea mea cu Asha are un moment pe care n-am cm să-l uit.

În urmă cu 12 ani, exact pe 18 mai, de ziua mea, Asha s-a hotărât că este momentul să-și aducă puiuții pe lume.Eu eram acasă. Aveam invitați, prieteni, rude, toată povestea unei zile de naștere.

Numai că Asha avea alte planuri , nu prea voia să nască fără mine. 😄

Așa că, la un moment dat, mi-am lăsat invitații acasă și am plecat la Asha. Până la urmă, dacă tot se hotărâse să nască exact de ziua mea, trebuia să mă prezint și eu la eveniment.Am stat cu ea, au venit puiuții pe lume și lucrurile au intrat în normal.

Sau cel puțin așa credeam.

Pentru că, două luni mai târziu, povestea avea să continue chiar la mine acasă.Unul dintre puiuții Ashei a devenit Chucky, fetița mea.Și este cu noi și astăzi.Are 12 ani.

Cine a trăit cu o pisică Bengaleză știe că termenul de „pisică de casă” trebuie folosit cu oarecare precauție. 😄 Cu Chucky, viața noastră a fost și este o aventură continuă. Dar asta este o altă poveste și, cu siguranță, merită spusă separat.

Astăzi Asha a venit la noi în spital pentru niște probleme digestive, așa că am consultat-o, i-am făcut ecografie , analize de sânge și a primit tratamentul de care avea nevoie , dar a beneficiat de pachetul complet care a inclus masaj ,manichiură , pedichiură și, obligatoriu, foarte multe mângâieri și pupici.

Și despre asta este, de fapt, filmulețul acesta.M-am uitat la ea și mi-am adus aminte de ziua aceea de acum 12 ani.Atunci eram lângă Asha când devenea mamă.
Două luni mai târziu, una dintre fetițele ei intra în casa și în viața noastră .
Astăzi, Chucky are 12 ani și este tot lângă noi , iar Asha, la 14 ani, s-a întors la mine ca o bunicuță care mai are nevoie, din când în când, să avem puțină grijă de ea.

Small Animal Masterclass in NIRF–ICG Fluorescence-Guided Surgery

If you already have a NIRF–ICG system in your operating room, but you only use it occasionally, this is the course that can show you just how much more you can do with it.

1. Because NIRF–ICG means much more than just “seeing something green”

This is not a course about how to press the fluorescence button on your system. It is a masterclass about how to transform the information provided by fluorescence into precise, clinically relevant surgical decisions.

The program covers the main current applications of NIRF–ICG-guided surgery in veterinary medicine, including:

vascular and skin flap perfusion assessment;
gastrointestinal perfusion assessment;
visualization and identification of the extrahepatic biliary tract during cholecystectomy;
sentinel lymph node mapping;
identification of tumor margins;
detection of micrometastases in selected organs;
lymphatic system imaging in chylothorax.

In other words: vascular perfusion, anatomy, oncology & lymphatic mapping — all in one course.

2. Because it is not just theory. An entire day is dedicated to hands-on training.

The first day is designed to help you understand the technology, indications, protocols, and interpretation of NIRF–ICG imaging.

The second day is entirely dedicated to putting these principles into practice.

The hands-on program includes:

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy • Gastrointestinal Perfusion Imaging • Thoracic Duct Ligation • Cisterna Chyli Ablation • Sentinel Lymphadenectomy • Skin Flap Perfusion Assessment
