Introducing Zahrah, another victim of a car accident, left to suffer on the road side in 50+ degrees 💔

This lucky lady was picked up by cat rescuers and taken to the vets where we then agreed to take her under QAWS. Thank you for not hesitating and getting her off the street 🙏

Zahrah's first battle was heatstroke and that was the immediate danger, fortunately she got the rapid treatment needed and is pulling through.

Next she has a horrible break in her leg and the infection had already taken hold. Again with the intervention of our vets that is starting to reduce now 😔

Now we are waiting on an orthopedic consultation to see if the leg can be saved or the damage is too severe....we will do what we can, as recommended by the vet 🤞

Zahrah deserves the best but that comes at a high cost in Qatar, we know you will all be behind her and help us help her, as always.

Wow, just wow, what an amazing donation of cat and kitten food together with so many treats for our dogs and pups 🙏❤️

A huge thank you to Nestle/Purina for thinking of us, we are truly grateful and will pay it forward by sharing and helping others as well as our own 😊

With the support of our community and local business like this we can do much more and continue to make a difference, one rescue at a time 😺🐶

Already sharing with other rescues, love how many boxes you can get in a car 😂

Being a rescue at QAWS is not all bad 😂😂

We do try to give our rescues a fun time while they wait for their forever homes and this weekend we dropped a few beds in the outside run......the dogs loved them, a huge success. So much so we had to add a couple more so everyone had one 🥰

A big thank you to all at Doha Stitches for the regular supply of beds for our dogs (and cats too, theirs are in the catio's) . Making a difference in so many ways 🙏

Fostering really does make a difference ❤️

Lucky Owen is in an amazing foster home while he waits to travel (very soon now) and this step towards his forever home has given him the best start 🙏

We are always looking for foster homes, from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. We provide everything needed and are on hand at all times. All we need are people to open their homes for a short while. 🥰

If you think fostering might be an option for you please message us to chat. You too can help a rescue on their way to their happy ever after 😊

Sorry, here we are again, the dreaded ongoing battle with diesel supply 😔

Thank you to all those who donated an incredible amount which has got us through June & July 🙏

Now we head into August and need another push to cover the cost of the approx 15,000 litres we will need (at 2.70 a litre, the maths is scary) 😱

We are so fortunate that we can tick along with most things on a weekly basis but this diesel is 100% the most difficult thing we face 😢

Please help if you can, every penny counts

We ask again.....does anyone know anyone who can advise us on solar power??? This has to be the way forward 🚨

Happy Day, Happy Adoption Day for Jeremy ❤️

Jeremy is one lucky boy and has found his forever home with an amazing forever mum who is spoiling him and showing him what life should be like 🥰

Remember this gorgeous boy, literally thrown into our care by his "owner" who put him in a room at QAWS and ran away 🤬. That is all far behind him now and he's living his best life.

Thank you for choosing adoption, for choosing Jeremy and for giving him his happy ever after 🙏

This is dedication, despite the heat and humidity we had a huge team of volunteers from The Mandarin Oriental Hotel join us this weekend ❤️

Late evening dog walking and time in the cool cat rooms and catio's was enjoyed by all, two legs and four 🥰

Thank you, once again, for taking the opportunity to come along and spend time with our rescues. We all appreciate you all 🐕🐈

Meet our newest resident, and first ever Prairie Dog!

This little boy was surrendered by a responsible owner who realised they weren't able to give him what he needs. He'll be a permanent resident at QAWS unless the absolute perfect home comes along, and we're in no rush to let him go as they're not an easy pet and very destructive.

He needs two main things from us:

- An appropriate name (we love quirky so shoot across ideas!)

- Consistent AC as he will not survive the summer heat

We know we ask constantly, but we need your help to make another payment to our diesel supplier before we run out of diesel, and electricity, again. 🚨

Please help this guy and all the other QAWS residents stay cool and safe this summer through https://gofund.me/2f4910df

We love travel days ❤️✈️🎉.

Annie, Eva, Eloise & Esme all flew into the safe hands of our amazing friends and partners at National Greyhound Adoption Program. Thank you for accepting our rescues, you rock 😊

These four lucky girls have a forever future in the USA and there are so many people to thank. From flights to crates to comfy duvets (for the long flight), our community came together and covered their adventures with donations once again. We couldn't do it without you and we are truly grateful 🙏

Being in a position to be able to send our rescues overseas makes a huge difference, not only to those chosen but also to the next cases waiting patiently to come in.

Happy days, happy forever girls 🥰

Before we had QAWS, we had Ferdinand.

Since his arrival in 2004 as an orphaned 5 day old calf, before QAWS was even formed, Ferdy has been a solid force in the center of the shelter, adored by everyone who ever met him. Ferdy introduced the wonders of livestock and farm animals to thousands of children over the years and was likely the most photographed cow in Qatar!

Ferdy was there for the formation of QAWS in 2004, the shelter destroying fire in 2009, the catastrophic flood in 2016 and the great move to Mekaines in 2017!

For everything we have done over the last 21 years, he has been there.

But now he's not.

He leaves behind him countless broken hearts and a ginormous, irreplaceable void in the centre of QAWS. 🌈
