1 cat from near Benafim was enthusined 😢

The sick cat from Salir was taken to our lead vet Faye but too sick so enthusined 😢
Thankyou Diana Jepson for taking her and Barbara for helping her

Bruiser and Tom from our village colony near Benafim were taken to Faye as both had injuries.
Bruiser who is one if the original colony cats was checked over and given a nextguard
Tom however has an infection in his toe so was given a 14 day antibitoic injection and pain relief.
Both were released back and happy to be home 🏡

We have recirved updates from

*Muffin who is realky settled and being bossy towards the dogs 😆

*Bluie is just loving his new home 🏡 ❤️

*Charlie the kitten last year that had cime from a bad domestic siutation where we and the vets belive he was attacked with a knife that nearly perforated his bowel . It was a stressful time but he made a full recovery and is loving his new life ❤️

Cats for adoption

*Ginger is still hiding at Candices but comes out for food and the litter tray . She is so shy but really sweet. We need a quiet loving home with access to a safe garden , no main roads.

*Pi is settling in but he is lonely so we need to find him some company. We also are still trying to sort his microchip transfer as his current registered owners abandoned him and do not want him. He is 5 years old and such a sweetheart . If not sorted monday its a trip to the municple vet.

Progects

The fencing at the hillside village colony Silves is nearly finiished . It is not an easy site to fence so grateful to Lisa McLenahan, Claire and anon Caretaker for your hard work 🙏 ❤️

No movement on Alte fencing despite more messages to Freguesia de Alte Its getting cold and we just need this site completed asap.

Private retreat is being divided to allow more feral cats a refuge while we asssess thier future locations.
Lets be clear It is not ok to move feral cats from thier colonies but if they are in immediate danger then we do act.

New website is nearly finished . We will make a separate post when live 💥

Our vet bills are now over €600 !
Our Auction for street Cats Algarve 6th november covers our general costs food , parasite treatments ,sundries ect. Knowone takes a salary we are all volunteers.

Update on the stray kitten that was badly unjured and kindly taken to faro vetinary hospital by a young man last week .
Now named Rocky .

Rocky underwent surgery on his leg last week.
He is doing well .

Message from Cristine
Here is Rocky, he's doing good but now we have to wait about 2 weeks to see if gets any sensitivity to the leg that has bandage. They talk about amputating if he doesn't get feeling, which I pray he doesn't have to do it. If he does get feeling back then they operate on femur from that side. But for now he doing good, eating well and now to keep track of his meds. He is so adorable. On fotos he looks big, but he is still small. We think he's about 4 months. Thank again Gabi. 💕

The family that saved him have had to pay huge vet bills to save this kitten even though they they did not know this little soul they just wanted to help him. No owner has come forward but they have fallen in love with him so he will be partbif thier family.

New mum Cristine has a meeting with the orthpedic surgeon soon .Rocky has another week to see how his leg is healing after the operation and there is still a risk of amputation but for now he is doing well.
I am sure you all will join us in sending healing wishes to Rocky and thank this lovely family for thier compassion to help a stray kitten in need and not just leave him ❤️

Huge thankyou to those who donated towards his vet bill🙏 there is still a massive amount they had to pay so please pm me if you can spare ,even a euro would help as they have just returned to portugal and not working yet. To Dpdsaa animal charity for sponsoring the sterilsations 👏 🙏❤️ PDA Community cats pay for additional treatments ,vet bills , sundries ,food ect

We have 300 plus cats in managed colonies to feed and provide regular parasite treatments as well as vetinary care.

She is recovering from being poorley ,Mouse has here next check up soon and hopefully will get the all clear 🤞Huge thankyou to failed foster Ronnie for caring for her and the vet runs 🙏❤️

Muffin
Muffin eventually went to her new home on Monday and is settling in well. She is being very brave with her new doggy friends !
Huge Thankyou to foster Candance and son Jack who have been brilliant and giving Muffin so much confidence since she was found abandined on the street 🙏❤️

Bluie
Bluie was adopted s few weeks ago and is settled in his new home. He continues to gain confidence and his new humans are working on his swipe 😆
We hope to visit soon and officially change over the microchip 🎉

Ginger female
Foster mum Candance collected Ginger girl that was abandoned at an external colony in quateria a few months ago. We were able to take her as Bluie and Muffin got homes so Candance offered to care for her and get out of the cold.
She is a cutie but a bit of a houdini !
No name yet . She had a vet check with tests ,microchipp and first vaccination.
She needs a loving home.
She is Very timid and cute 💕

Simese mix boy
This gorgeous gentle boy was left out by his regiseted owners who told the vet they did not want him!! 😢 He is 5 years old . Had a vet check and tests and parasite treament.
Once we sort the chip registration he will be available for adoption to a quiet loving home. Huge thankyou to the neighbours who kindly fed and put a shelter for him and Tracy-Jane Pooler for alerting us to him🙏 ❤️ currently in foster with
Gabi

Misty who we trapped and sterilsed went to the uk a few weeks ago and is settling in with her humans and new step sisters . She loves Licky licks so this is helping mum Claire to bond with her 💖

Sick cat salir

A Sick cat from external colony is going to the vet on monday again . Thankyou to Barbara who is feeding her and also fostering doggy Misia who is reserved . Update when we know more on monday.

Please if you can help pm me i can pass on Cristinas whatapp number

So her son Kevin found a cat in the road last sunday evening that had been hit by a car. Vets were closed so he wanted to help the cat as it was badly injured and in pain. He did the right thing !
Only problem was he had to take it to the vet hosptal in faro as it was after 9pm on a sunday .

The bill so far was €1000 known as Rocky had to stay for 5 days and now tommorw he is due an operation to fix his leg I think they have been told €1500 .
The invoices give a different name of the cat.
And not all invoices are here. Cristina is portuguse but just returned from livibg in Canada and with the exoenses of moving plus not working yet they are understndably struggling to oay these bills.

They have fallen in love with Rocky and happy to adopt him if no owner comes forward( no chip )

If you can spare a donation however small ot would really help.

Kevin did the right thing and now the family are struggling withbthe vet bill. Please help 🙏

Muffin
Little kitten Muffin was ready to go to her new home when an hour before the foster noticed something stuck in her bottom . Poor Muffin . It was a waiting game to see if she would just pass it fully out . We took vetinary advice from Faye and just in case we needed a ultra sound scan Candice was on alert to take her to a vet. In the meantime Candice went investigating what it could be. Once identified as a piece of string we waited and it did pass . We did not want Muffin to go to her new home until we were sure she was ok. Muffin will now go to her new hkme on Monday . As you csn see by the photo she is very relaxed 😆

Mouse

Little Mouse became ill and was very dehydrated. Permant foster took her to a new vet as it was the weekend. She had somd fluids but clearly not enough . She also had a temperature. On Monday she went to our lead vet Faye. After a follow up visit she is now feeling much better. Her tooth operation has been postponed.

Sam
Poor Sam who most of you will know has leishimonisis although he is doi g really well with the management and his bloods were good a few weeks back . Sam suddenly started being incontinent and off his food so he saw Faye and is now on some meds and pain relif. Having lost 500g He is already eating better.

Cat from Alte
Caretaker Melissa saw one if the cats in rhe high street looking ill and took her to Faye. This poor cat haf a horrid abscess above the eye. He recirved a 2 week antibiotic that Melissa kindly paid for 🙏❤️
We will keep monitoring him and pray that soon the Freguesia de Alte will put the fence up so we can care and manage these cats as one of our colonies. 🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞
Although they do get fed sometimes by well meaning locals.
All cats will recieve good quality food and regular parasite treaments so it is so important to get the food and house station ready . I have sent several emails to the junta but no responce . I will keep asking as they have the fencing that was kindly donated by Anne a year ago as well as 2 cat houses ! Lets hope they get this done before the weather changes 🙏

Misia
The little dog thst Diana Jepson found is reserved to go and join Bella in the UK. We could not wish for a better hime. Misia will lo e playing with her new step brothers and sister !

So 3 have been found 2 white and 1 black

i will go through my diary but these boxes were lent to people i know so please check your sheds or garage . We need them for TNR

The red one was lent to someone i did not know so it will take time to go through emails and messages !

We are trying to allocate :

5 white transfer boxes (2 now found)

1 red transfer box

1 black medium transfer box ( now found )

If you have borrowed a box from us and find it please pm . We need the boxes for TNR .

If we do not find them them we may have to take deposits in the future.

Misty
This sweet girl traveled to the uk to be adopted by her new mum Claire.
Claire had befriended Misty 3 years ago at a hotel on the coast and this year while holidaying decided to take her home in the uk !
Misty is settling in with her 2 new step sisters. Huge thankyou to Emma and Les for taking her to her new home 🏡

Bluie
Bluie had 10 teeth removed poor boy but recovered quickly and has found a loving home ❤️
Huge thankyou to foster Candice and son Jack and all the cares and shares from ALGARVE CAT REHOMING 🐈 🙏

Muffin
Muffin the kitten that was abandoned at a colony in Almancil has found a loving home and will be delivired on wednesday . Another huge thankyou to Candice and Jack foster caring for 2 cats without hesitation ! 🙏❤️

Luigi
Luigi was castrared by us in the spring with another boy Julius both from Salir . Tracey became thier caretaker and loved them very much as her own. Both were missing for over a week when Luigi re apperared but was mystrously injured resulting in him being enthusinised 😔 Julius has not been seen since. 😢 💔💔💔
Tracey is naturally heartbroken as we are. Huge thankyou to Faye at 124 vet for seeing Lugui at short notice and realising his pain with dignity 🙏

Misia
Misia is a cute podengo mix who Diana found and was pregnant and tested postive for tick fever.
She had a spayabort and is recieving treatment for the tick fever. Huge thankyou to Diana and foster mum Barbara 🙏❤️
Misia will be avialble to adopt here or abroad in a few weeks time. Please pm us if you would like more info and please share the post from ALGARVE DOG REHOMING 🐕 🙏

The village colony Silves
Mum and her 4 kittens are really settled in thier avery . The kittens are being sterilsed this week The fence is being errected next week . Closer to them going out and enjoying thier hew environment. Huge thankyou to anon Caretaker and Lisa McLenahan for all thier help with this project. 💖
