Dear friends and supporters,

Over the past months, we have been blessed with generous donations that have helped us care for our beloved animals. Your kindness has sustained us through countless challenges, and we are deeply grateful to each and every one of you for believing in our mission. In May and June we received a total of MOP 81,326.20.

However, today, we find ourselves in an urgent and heartbreaking situation. With the economic downturn affecting so many here in Macau, our donations have drastically dwindled. Yet, the costs of maintaining the shelter remain high: **monthly rent of 46,200 HKD**, medical expenses, food, cleaning supplies, and the care of each dog under our roof.

We are struggling to keep afloat. We owe money to veterinarians, suppliers, our landlord, and some incredibly generous individuals without whom we would have already sunk. We’re at the brink of bankruptcy, and we’re desperate.

今日嘅籌款日已經圓滿結束，雖然天氣真係好熱，但係都多謝各位過嚟探我哋嘅狗狗。幸運嘅Meadow, Papo, Quaris搵到佢哋嘅糧食捐贈者呀， 好多謝各位捐贈者！ 亦都有捐贈者送糧食俾我哋啊！但係仲有好多狗狗等緊你哋去支持，希望你哋同佢玩之餘，可以支持吓佢哋嘅食糧，甚至係選擇暫託或者領養佢哋！

Today’s fundraising event has successfully come to an end! Despite the hot weather, we are truly grateful to everyone who came to visit our dogs. Thankfully, Meadow, Papo and Quaris have found their food donors — a big thank you to all the generous donors! Some donors even donated food directly to us.

However, there are still many dogs waiting for your support. We hope you can have fun playing with them, and consider supporting their food needs, or even giving them a temporary foster home or adopting them! Your love and support can make a big difference in their lives.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful kindness and help over the past couple of days in giving the dogs a nice bath 🚿. Everyone—dogs and humans alike—are all smiles and super happy! We’ve had an absolutely joyful and meaningful Thursday and Friday, filled with wagging tails and happy hearts!

🐶✨ 一段拯救與愛的故事 ✨🐶

2019年3月29日，我們在路環村的一家建材店前的馬路上救下了兩只流浪小狗，P**i 和 Pali（後來改名為 Saffron 和 Sadie）。這已經不是我們第一次救助這家人“放養”的狗狗了。多年來，我們曾多次出手相救——例如 Bali 被撞後無人治療，Oxi（後來叫 Cooper）也曾身陷危險，而他的兄弟和父親都被貨車撞死。

找到 Saffron 和 Sadie 後，我們立刻將它們送往獸醫處救治。Bali 在醫院住了一個多月。由於原本的主人對於狗隻疏忽照顧也沒有絕育。我們出於對狗隻的愛幫那家人的其他狗進行了絕育手術。

當我們再次在街頭看到 Saffron 和 Sadie時，擔心它們會再次出事，我們決定帶牠們回收容所。不久後，我們也救下了牠們的媽媽 P**a 和其他兄弟 Pacho。他們最終都找到了充滿愛的家。

Saffron 和 Sadie 被一對來自南非的好心夫婦 Nella 和 Mark 領養。現在，他們跟家人一起幸福地生活在英國。

2022年，他們的第一個女兒 Elara 出生，Saffron 和 Sadie 成為了她的姐姐。三個月前，第二個女兒 Anaka 出世了。Nella 和 Mark 從一對情侶，變成了有兩只狗的二人家庭，如今是一家四口加兩條狗的溫暖之家！

這個故事溫暖人心，讓我們對澳門街頭的流浪動物未來充滿希望。

🐶✨ **A Story of Rescue and Love** ✨🐶

On March 29, 2019, we rescued two puppies, P**i and Pali (renamed Saffron and Sadie), that were roaming in the main road in front of a place for construction materials in Coloane Village (just opposite to the police station). It wasn't the first time we'd saved dogs belonging to the people managing that place. Over the years, we've rescued several animals—Bali had been run over, and left untreated, and Oxi (later Cooper) was also in danger (his brothers and father died killed by trucks).

When we found them, we took them to the vet, where Bali was treated, and had to stay, for over a month. We then sterilized other dogs in their care, as these people were absolutely negligent.

So, when we saw again Sadie and Saffron wandering the streets, at risk of being run over, we decided to save their lives. A day or two later, we also picked up their mother, P**a, and their brother, Pacho. All of them found loving homes.

Sadie and Saffron were adopted by a wonderful South African couple, Nella and Mark. Today, they live a beautiful life in the UK with their family.

When their first daughter, Elara, was born in 2022, Saffron and Sadie became her older sisters. Three months ago, another baby, Anaka, was born. Nella and Mark went from being a couple, to a couple with two dogs, and now a family with two dogs and two daughters!

It's a story that warms our hearts and gives us hope that more animals rescued from the Macau streets can find loving families.

🚨 OUR SHELTER IS STRUGGLING—BUT TAZ & VIGGO GOT THEIR SECOND CHANCE!🚨

On November 2, 2023, we found Taz —a young dog abandoned near Macao Dome, left to fend for himself. He was just a puppy, too young to face the harsh streets alone.
Three weeks ago, we rescued Viggo—a cat found injured on a balcony at Colégio Diocesano de São José, weak, underweight, and attacked by other cats.

🐾 YESTERDAY, THEY GOT THEIR SECOND CHANCE!💙
After months and weeks of care and recovery, they were finally strong enough to be neutered—a step we **never rush**. At MASDAW, we believe in responsible rescue—ensuring animals have time to heal, grow, and mature before life-changing procedures.

Unfortunately, in Macau, early desexing—neutering puppies and kittens as young as three or four months—is becoming standard practice to some veterinarian that should be the first to give the example in terms of animal protection rights. This is abusive and cruel.😡

⚠️ **Why is early desexing dangerous?**
🚫 **Interrupts hormonal development**—leading to lifelong health issues
🚫 **Stunts physical growth**—affecting bones, joints, and overall well-being
🚫 **Weakens immune systems**—making young animals more vulnerable to disease
🚫 **Causes behavioral problems**—affecting confidence, anxiety, and social adaptation

We fight against unethical practices, but we can’t do it alone. Our shelter is struggling to stay open, and we urgently need your help.

我們收容所其中一隻狗狗Fluffy，因為不能走路，然後跌倒導致面部有傷口。開始的時候他的傷口可能大概只有5cm，由於我們協會一直欠寵物醫院費用，我們無法負擔帶他去獸醫，於是我們用了抗生素藥膏幫她治療傷口。可惜因為天氣太熱，而且Fluffy之前患重病，抵抗力也不佳的情況傷口越來越大越來越嚴重。必須要靠抗生素藥物才能醫好，但是我們完全沒有任何資金再帶他去寵物醫院治理，我們甚至一直欠下收容所的租金。

**Fluffy Needs Your Help** 🐶💔

Fluffy, one of the dogs at our shelter, is facing a dire situation. She cannot walk because she had a huge cancer, removed around one month ago c and recently suffered a fall that left her with a painful facial wound. What started as a small injury has worsened due to the scorching weather and her fragile health. Without access to veterinary care, we’ve been doing our best to treat her with antibiotic ointments and pills — but she urgently needs proper medical attention, namely IV antibiotics.

Sadly, our shelter is in crisis. Financial struggles have left us unable to afford veterinary care, and we are even behind on rent. If we cannot cover our costs soon, the owner may reclaim the shelter—leaving our animals with an uncertain fate.

We are a **no-kill** organization, fully committed to fighting for their lives. Euthanasia is not an option unless their quality of life is completely gone. Every animal in our care deserves a chance, and Fluffy is no exception.

Any contribution—big or small—can make a difference. Donations of food, medical supplies, or financial support are **urgently** needed to keep our shelter running and give Fluffy the treatment she deserves.
