A Good Place for Horses and People Country Quest Portugal offers relaxing horse holidays in natural Algarve. No riding, only groundwork.

Children are welcome to experience lead rein riding on trail walks in the nature and spend time brushing the horses. As well as offering holiday experiences, we are also a venue for different workshops. Get in touch if you are looking for a place to host your workshop! We offer experiences from training horses, walking with horses to practising mindfulness, there is something for everyone. You do

not need any previous experience with horses, we will teach you everything you need to know. You can come for a day or stay for a week, we will look after you! Our courses include a Horse Owner 101 that covers the basics of owning your own horse. We also teach positive reinforcement training for horses. These courses are also available as online courses on our website. Do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions! We look forward to hearing from you!

Working student Anu working with George on desensitizing. All the work with George at this point is just about building learning history and making sure he has good experiences with humans and continues to build his self confidence. He is such a great boy!

Positive reinforcement training is a fantastic tool for desensitizing and working on different objects that horses may deem scary. When the horses are rewarded for observing and interacting with different scary things at their own pace, they gain confidence and generalise their experiences, which then helps when you are out an about in new environments.
