A little story about a big human heart🧡🐾
Two days ago, Guapa was found wandering the streets. Exhausted, covered in parasites, and trapped beneath a heavy coat of dead, matted fur, she was taken in by ARA Shelter Animal Rescue Algarve - ARA
Today, we were able to give her the first emergency care she desperately needed.
Because of the number of parasites she was carrying, we couldn’t bring Guapa into our grooming salon. To protect our other clients, the entire procedure had to be done outside.
For more than three hours, our groomers worked on their knees on a piece of cardboard, carefully removing the dead, tightly matted coat that was covering her body. This allowed her skin to breathe again, relieved her discomfort, and gave her coat a chance to recover. She also received antiparasitic treatment.
It wasn’t easy. But moments like this remind us why we love what we do.
Guapa is now in quarantine while she recovers. In a few weeks, once her treatment is complete, we’ll welcome her back to our salon for the makeover she truly deserves — a soothing bath with professional shampoos and conditioners, nourishing treatments, and a gentle trim to finish her transformation.
More than anything, we hope this beautiful girl will soon find the loving family she deserves. 🤍
