Dogs helping dogs (& donkeys)

For every new booking at Rivendell Kennels (Barão São João, Lagos) for stays in May 2025, we will once again donate a percentage to Associação Bamboo, Shelter for dogs and donkeys.

Every few months we choose and support a local dog charity - of which there are many deserving ones.

We love dogs and this is our small part in paying it forward.

LICENCED DOG HOTEL AND DAYCARE KENNELS
Barão São João
(15 minutes from Lagos, 10 minutes from Luz, 35 minutes from Aljezur)

We are currently taking new clients at our fabulous, purpose built dog facility in Barão São João.

Each dog, whether overnight, boarding or daycare will be allocated a spacious kennel with a cool indoor and outdoor area. In addition we have three large secure fenced garden areas for dogs to play, either individually for those dogs that prefer a quiet environment or with one or two compatible dogs for those who are social.

All dogs have the opportunity to spend much of the day outside.

We only take in a few dogs at a time which enables all our guests to receive lots of individual attention, playtime and cuddles.

Planned breeding to take place during Sueli’s next heat cycle. Puppies should be available in approx 6-7 months. They will be excellent as working livestock guardian dogs or family pets.
The dogs live on our farm in Portugal and we are happy to assist with arranging transportation to the UK
The puppy pictures show TiAmo X Sassicaia 2024 litter which have all now gone to wonderful homes.

Whether you’re going on vacation or a quick weekend get-away or simply just for DOGGIE DAY CARE, you can enjoy peace-of-mind knowing your dogs will be well cared for at Rivendell.

At Rivendell kennels, we only take in a handful of dogs at a time, which allows us to spend more time with each dog one-to-one. Each of our four-legged guests receives plenty of human TLC along with being able to interact with the other dogs in a safe atmosphere. This is an ideal situation for those dogs that do not like being in a big group.

Each kennel is spacious with a cozy indoor area with bed, and an outdoor area. Large enough for two dogs from the same household to share.

The secure doggy play fields are available for supervised fun in small compatible groups. There is plenty of shade and space to roam. All dogs spend most of the day outside.

DOGGIE DAYCARE
We currently have 2 spaces available for regular Doggie Daycare. A good opportunity for your dogs to let off some steam in a secure garden.

PUPPIES - Only 3 of our gorgeous Maremma puppies remain available to approved homes. We have 2 girls and a boy.

NEW PLAY AREA - We have expanded our gardens to include a third secure outside area for playtime and exercise. Allowing us to give free play space to entertain the socially awkward dogs in a separate garden area.
