Hope lives in dreams and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams a reality.

Our volunteer was driving to the rescue when she saw these two small puppies being attacked by several larger dogs on the mountain road. She stopped and began yelling at the the larger dogs to STOP. They ran off while she carefully placed the traumatized pups into her car. Now safely at our rescue, they will need time to feel safe and learn to trust. We will give them patience and enough love to fill their broken hearts. ❤️❤️

Our Six Brave Sweethearts need a little help. The food they need to grow strong is a bit out of our reach financially. They are eating this tiny dry kibble twice daily. It's $72 a bag and one bag can last us up to 11 days.

When safety, time and love are all you need...anything is possible ~

We found this little girl helplessly laying on the side of the road in our town of Villalba last week. She had been hit by a car and left to die alone on the streets. We quickly scooped her up and took her to the emergency room where x-rays found a fractured pelvis and hip dysplasia. We affectionately named this sweetheart, Polly. She's back with us at "Sato City" where we will give her all the rest and recovery time she needs.

We are asking for support to cover Polly's medical bills as she has a long road to recovery. Her vet bill included x-rays, medication and 7 days boarding at our discounted rescue rate of $350. We understand that times are tough, anything will help if you are able. All donations are tax-deductible.

Sunday 12:03PM - Everyone is safe! We are the blue dot in the updated photo. Experiencing no water, high winds, rain, thunder and lightening. Thank you for keeping us all in your thoughts.

* Good news, our Lucky 7 made is safely to their destinations last night. They are up for adoption through Sato Heart Rescue and Hearts and Tails. Please consider these wonderful organizations when looking to add to your family. We are still fundraising to cover their transportation off the island if you are able. Any amount helps.

Update! Erin is now a category 5. Shelter is already without running water.

She’s on her way!
Hurricane Erin has become a category 4 as our small island braces for flooding, landslides and mudslides. With our shelter positioned high in the mountains, we are preparing for high winds and the real possibility of being cut off from critical supplies. We will continue to update you and ask that you keep our rescues and those on the streets in your thoughts and prayers.

Our lucky 7 made it off the island just in time and are still on their path up the coast. We continue to fundraise to meet this critical transportation need as our bill will easily reach the several thousands for 7 crates. If you are able to make a tax-deductible donation, we are deeply grateful.

Just in time ~..to see our hard work come together with Hurricane season showing it's strength. We are steps away to keeping our promise of a better life for 7 of our rescues and hope that you can help.

We are thrilled to see our litter of 6 "Pink Tub" pups make their way stateside along with one of our longest waiting adoptable sweethearts, Charlie! The volume of planning, sacrifices and luck are beyond words to express as travel space off the island is unbelievably hard to secure. They will fly to Miami and travel up the coast via ground transportation. This is what it takes to change their lives forever and we must keep going. In our 25th year in rescue, it doesn't escape us that we are only able to do what we do because along the way animal lovers stepped up and said, I believe in you.

We've got you...
This little boy was seen hit by a truck on Sunday and the driver never slowed, never stopped. This life meant nothing, but for our volunteer who saw the entire accident, this rescue was everything! We've affectionately and appropriately named this sweet boy, Scruffy who was clearly in pain but his tail kept wagging. X-rays show that he will sadly need orthopedic surgery to his hip.

Sweet Scruffy appears to be a year old and although his body shows clear signs of complete neglect, his heart is forgiving and grateful. We will keep everyone updated on his surgery and truly appreciate any help that we can with the estimated surgery cost of $350. We look forward to giving him a better life and thank you in advance for any support you can lend.

Difficult roads can lead to beautiful destinations...

Tied to a fence and abandoned, these small victims were terrified. It didn't take long to remind them that they were safe and loved. Today, they began the next chapter of their lives thanks to our amazing Flight Angels, Jillian, Erin, and Nicole. A special thank you to our beautiful volunteer, Jeannine, who always raises her hand to make everything possible. Our hope is that their past will be forgotten, and their hopeful futures are all they see.

We also said goodbye to our sweetheart, Gizmo who was rescued from a life confined to a crate when he was freed from a hoarding situation. Wanting nothing more than to be loved, we are happy to see his future begin again.

These moments are only possible thanks to our unified efforts. We are deeply grateful to everyone who believes in our mission and supports providing hope for the islands most often forgotten.
