Most of us feel like we need to do something every time we’re with our horse.

Ride.
Train.
Exercise.
Work toward a goal.

But horses are actually very good at doing nothing.

Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is simply go and be with them — no agenda, no expectations.

Sit in the paddock or pasture.
Let them graze.
Let them come over… or not.

Some gentle ways to “do nothing”:
• sit quietly nearby
• watch how they move and interact
• notice their breathing, their ears, their expression
• enjoy the sounds, smells, and stillness of being there together

This kind of quiet time creates connection.

And it often becomes the foundation that makes everything else you do together feel easier, calmer, and more enjoyable.
