I want to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you for your love, support, and specially for your prayers during my breast cancer surgery. Your kind words , prayers and messages and simply being there for me meant more than I can express.

Unámonos en oración y pensamientos positivos, pidiéndole al Señor que guíe cada paso de los doctores y que cubra a Leo con su paz, fuerza y sanación.
Estamos contigo, Leo. Te rodeamos con amor, fe y esperanza. 💗

Let us all come together in prayer, asking the Lord to guide the hands of the doctors and to place His healing touch upon her.

Hello,
My name is Enid, and together with my husband Deneb, we are active volunteers at Barks of Hope.

As many of you already know, our dear Leo will undergo breast cancer surgery on June 27. During this very difficult time, we kindly ask our community to give Leo the space and peace she needs to go through this process.

Although we have shared this before, we continue to receive daily requests for help. It truly breaks our hearts to say no, but at this moment, we simply do not have the emotional or physical capacity to take on new cases.

We are asking for your understanding. Leo has given so much of herself to animals and has helped thousands of families across the island. Now, she needs our compassion and support as she focuses on healing.

Once she recovers, we will be back, as always, doing everything we can for the animals who need us.

Thank you for your empathy and for respecting this time of rest and recovery.

Hola,
Mi nombre es Enid y, junto a mi esposo Deneb, somos voluntarios activos de Barks of Hope.

Como muchos ya saben, nuestra querida Leo será sometida a una cirugía de cáncer de seno el próximo 27 de junio. En este momento tan delicado, les pedimos encarecidamente a todos en la comunidad que nos ayuden brindándole a Leo el espacio y la tranquilidad que necesita para atravesar este proceso.

A pesar de que ya lo hemos comunicado anteriormente, seguimos recibiendo solicitudes de ayuda todos los días. Nos duele profundamente no poder responder como quisiéramos, pero en este momento no contamos con los recursos ni la capacidad emocional para atender nuevos casos.

Solo pedimos un poco de comprensión. Leo ha entregado su vida a rescatar, cuidar y luchar por los animales de nuestra isla, y ha sido un apoyo incalculable para miles de familias. Ahora, ella necesita nuestra solidaridad.

Después de su recuperación, estaremos aquí, como siempre, para seguir luchando por ellos.

Gracias por su empatía y por respetar este momento de pausa.

Ha llegado el momento de ayudar a Leo, quien ha entregado su vida a los animales y ha sido una pieza clave en el rescate y protección de tantos perritos. El 27 de junio de 2025, Leo será operada de cáncer de seno, y necesita de nuestra solidaridad más que nunca.

Uno de los mayores regalos que podemos ofrecerle es encontrar hogares amorosos para varios de los perritos actualmente bajo el cuidado de Barks of Hope, tanto en Puerto Rico como en los Estados Unidos. Todos están vacunados, esterilizados o castrados, y han dado negativo en la prueba 4DX.

Si no puedes adoptar, por favor ayúdanos compartiendo esta publicación. Entre todos, podemos darle a estos perritos la familia que tanto merecen y, al mismo tiempo, brindarle a Leo un poco de paz y alivio en este momento tan difícil.

Now is the time to give back to Leo, who has given so much for the animals and dedicated herself fully to rescue work. On June 27, 2025, Leo will undergo surgery for breast cancer, and she needs our support more than ever.

One of the best ways we can help is by finding loving homes for several of the dogs currently under the care of Barks of Hope whether in Puerto Rico or the United States. All of them are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and 4DX negative.

If you’re not able to adopt, please help by sharing this post. Together, we can find these pups the forever homes they deserve and give Leo some peace of mind during this difficult time.

Scrappie llegó a Barks of Hope en febrero con sarna sarcóptica. Durante estos meses, recibió el tratamiento y cuidado que necesitaba, y hoy comienza un nuevo capítulo lleno de esperanza. Scrappie ya va en camino hacia una vida mejor, con la ilusión de ser adoptado por una familia amorosa que le brinde el hogar que tanto merece.

Queremos agradecer a nuestras flight angels, Marissa y Mia, por hacer posible este viaje tan importante para él.

Scrappie arrived at Barks of Hope in February with sarcoptic mange. Over the past few months, he received the treatment and care he needed, and today he’s on his way to a new life filled with hope. Scrappie is heading toward a brighter future, with high hopes of being adopted by a loving family who will give him the home he truly deserves.

We want to thank our flight angels, Marissa and Mia, for making this important journey possible for him.
