No animal deserves a life on the street.
Sure, you may “think” they are fine - but they are not! Most of them are sick, in someway, or another. It could be as simple as parasites in their bellies, or, sometimes even worse - something underlying. The point is - animals need humans to care for them. If not - they die!!!
We woke up today and found out little Nachita passed away at our vet clinic. At first, I took the blame, asking myself what I should/could have done differently, but the fact is - she should have been helped months ago. Hundreds of people walked past her and did nothing. Had one person helped sooner, she would be alive. She was a tiny, 3 lb, kitten living on the street - honestly I’m surprised she made it as long as she did. Absolutely heartbreaking, the short and sh*tty life she had to live. Seems so unfair! 😔
Not the Monday we wanted - but giving ourselves a firm talk, that we won’t quit. As much sadness and heartache we see, we will keep going. Nachita needed us and so many others still do.
So for now, Nachito will take up this small spot on our feed and we will honor her. She mattered and humans completely failed her.
A soul lost today - and we are so sad 😞.
