2nd national training on commercial ostrich farming...
Due to elevated level of globle population's graph, excessive demand of protein in country and world is being observed. Ostrich flesh is making its way to the market through out the world. Keeping in view Ostrich's potential Poultry Science department of Faculty of veterinary and animal sciences decides to go for Ostrich farming in
PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi.
First flock was imported 3 years back. With passage of time hard work and exposure to birds faculty is ready to transfer it's knowledge to farmers.
Faculty have a well developed open shed for Ostrich along with small hatchery. Where birds are kept in extensive care and survalience.This area is formally called as
Station for Ostrich Research and Development (SORD)
Experts are available for every step including Nutrition, Dieases and management.
1st training was successfully conducted by the faculty where farmers come from throughout Pakistan to gain experience.
2nd term under topic of
"Ostrich Diseases and health" to he conducted soon..
This is a brief note detail about Ostrich research station will be given after some time.

More than 180 papers, sucking assignments, more then 10 rotations, 2 years of surgeries, hard time in , dealing every nature's clients, labs full of formaline smell, burning heat of summer, 3 to 4 hours long papers, 8 to 4 PM classes, Vivas....
Sometimes you have to face back pain for standing 6 hours continuously, still teacher's hard words.... but
That happiness when seeing face of new born in OT, Recovered patient in OT, Revealing pain of suffering after accidents, of poor farmer when their earning hand (animal) got treated and able to work.. Your Kindness to patient wither it's well maintained pet or animal laped with dust and dirt, it's case full of blood or full of putrified organ ( worst ever smell)... You are always there to help each and every creature..
Salute you guys for your 5 years hard struggle...
Your degree is and will remain it's legacy for those who have a heart and feel the pain of others...
Good luck my dear Vets 12-Arid-Vets have a bright future you will be going to support backbone of your country....
You will be a cause of happiness...
