Hello people, Since the past few days Ive been reading various stuff on social media where different 'unregistered organizations' have been in a war of words.
I would like to put my two cents into all this weird kind of scuffle that has now become quite irritating. I or for that matter any individual who has a sensible love for animals cannot unread all that.
Ive been involved in the animal welfare work since the past 10 years. My work started from Europe in 2011 and working my way through Pakistan between 2014 to 2019 ended up working for the same cause in Canada. Primarily I have been been involved with equines, however cattle and dogs were also a very small part of it.
2Care4Horses Aps was registered in Denmark in 2011. The name was changed to Al-Sirhan Equine Foundation in 2014 when I moved to Pakistan where it was registered as an active NPO with the Registrar of Industries. In 2019 The Horseman Inc. was formed and registered in Canada as a breeding, training and rehabilitation organization for equines.
With a Masters in Equine Science and Management, my infinite love for horses and operating 3 different organizations over the past decade I know how stuff works all around the world and how it works in Pakistan.
I will be very open in naming some people and their organizations who I have had the opportunity to know or work with in different capacities in the text below.
Animal cruelty is a serious concern and I am happy that so many youngsters are coming up as small groups and trying their best to solve this matter. However I do feel sad, angry and at times literally flabbergasted to see how 'some' individuals manipulate these issues for personal gains.
Let me tell you something important.
'You as an organization have to be mature enough to wait before starting to reap benefits of your services. Please and I say PLEASE do not look into personal gains and try to make others feel lower than you.
Everyone in their right minds are trying to help these animals. I would certainly like to give a shoutout to Kiran Maheen and her team at Todd's Welfare Society for the way they have come so far. Learn from them !!! If you want to really want to make a name in the NPO industry, go visit Brookes. Learn from them!!! You want to see work, go see what Ayesha Chundriger at ACF Animal Rescue is doing. Anixa, Hina, Farah and some other ladies are doing some amazing work. Everyone has issues. I and all these wonderful women have been called on a couple of times when I knew there was nothing of concern. I have always learnt to keep low and thats what I have advised everyone who came up to me to follow.
What Im trying to say here is let your actions make noise. Dont be vocal in a negative way. Dont be a judge of others when you are not even sure of your own standing. When you are not even a year old. When you have no clue of how to work the proper way. Build your own connections. Generating finances the easy way never lets organizations learn hence they die before evening growing.
In my 10 years I have seen a lot of organizations pop up and vanish in the same speed. Do not become one of those organizations.
I would also advise all unregistered bodies to have themselves registered properly. Work on your articles/by-laws. Develop your financials. Who cares if you start from Pkr 1000 or Pkr 10000 or for that matter Pkr 50000. Chip in money with the help of family and friends. Advertise yourself positively. Attend events. Let people know of your existence eventually making permanent shelters and work like the sensible, mature and educated people that you are.
