When shifting eggs 🥚be vigilant on the following points:
✏️Make sure you write down on the box what you shifted.
( infertile eggs )
( fertile eggs )
( their quantity and from which cage ) as it’s impossible to memorize what you do in shifting with so many pairs !
✏️Don’t mix eggs of the same type
( For example 2 Eggs of 1 pair and 3 eggs from another that will both produce the same birds like all parblues. So if 2 eggs were from parents carrying the ino gene and the other 3 eggs were from simple Parblues. You will not be able to identify Parblue/inos )
✏️Make sure there isn’t too much of a gap difference between the eggs shifting and the foster pair.
( For Example your main pair laid eggs 15 days after your fostering pair that already has fertile eggs in it, don’t put the newly laid eggs there as the bird may hatch them but the chicks will have a 15 day difference and chances of them dieing by being stamped on )
✏️You Can Shift upto 7-8 eggs under a foster pair and they may all hatch, but the issue is that the parents will find it hard to feed all 7-8 chicks properly and therefore you will end up with small size chicks once weaned.
✏️If you want Jumbo Quality sized chicks then don’t foster more than 3-4 below 1 pair, you’ll see amazing results IA.
✏️Many times we shift eggs under 1 pair and sometimes that pair wastes all eggs, either by not sitting on them or cracks all of them. Another way to maintain minimum loss is to shift for example 5 fertiled eggs between 5 fostering pairs so that 1 egg is shifted below each pair !!
Let’s stick to this for the moment and I am hopeful that now we as Pakistanis are rapidly becoming professional breeders !!
Thank you!❤️
