What makes moments like this so sweet is that working dogs are trained for focus, discipline, and protection, but they also build very strong emotional bonds with the humans around them. Behind all that professionalism is still an animal that feels safe with gentle touch, trust, and connection. That is part of what makes police dogs so special: they can be incredibly disciplined in one moment and still crave a soft, loving interaction in the next.

Happy National Dog Day!
Today feels extra meaningful because I also get to celebrate a huge milestone, 100k of you here with me on Instagram. That’s 100,000 sets of eyes on shelter dogs who may have otherwise gone unseen.
My mission has always been to bring awareness to the phenomenal dogs waiting in shelters. Too often, people believe the stereotypes, that these dogs are too broken and undeserving. Being in a shelter doesn’t mean they’re trash. It means life has been unfair. Haven’t we all been there in some way? We all know what it feels like when life is unfair, and we all thrive when we’re given a second chance. These dogs are no different.
It’s an honor to share their stories with you and to help rewrite the way the world sees them. Because of your support, I feel even more empowered to fight for them, to lift their voices, and to help them find forever homes filled with the love they deserve.

Tiny crabs may look bold for a second, but a lot of the time they are actually built to be cautious, quick, and ready to disappear the moment something feels off 🦀
That is what makes videos like this so cute. A little crab will creep in slowly, grab the food as fast as possible, and then rush off like it just pulled off a perfect heist. And honestly, that makes sense. Many small crabs survive by staying alert, avoiding bigger animals, and not lingering out in the open any longer than they have to. So when one runs off with a snack, it is not being rude, it is just being very good at being a crab.
