Punished the poor souls instead of keeper. These were the dogs who attacked a by passer in Khi, what they did was natural, guarding home, owner didn't leashed them and results were devastating, but how can someone be so cruel? How can we punish these two beauties like this? The judicial system of this state is neither supportive for humans nor animals, really very sad to see both of these young guys put down like this. The owner was set free guards faced death penalty. This system should be set ablazed. Really a very sad news.

A Saint Bernard is a giant-size breed and although they are generally quiet inside, they are not best suited to apartments. They need space to move or just to stretch out in.

If you consider yourself a neat freak, then the Saint Bernard is not the breed for you. They drool and their paws track in their fair share of mud. They are heavy shedders and shed, or blow, their coat twice a year.โญ๏ธ

The American Kennel Club (AKC) labels the Presa Canario โ€” nicknamed โ€œPresa,โ€ โ€œCanary Dogโ€ and simply โ€œPerro Canarioโ€ โ€” as a Foundation Stock Service breed.

This allows the breed the umbrella of the AKCโ€™s security to continue to develop, but these dogs are not eligible for AKC registration.

The head is massive and compact, covered in loose skin and squarish. This breed has a pronounced furrow between the frontal lobes that is about two-thirds the width of the skull.

Presa Canarios have large, oval-shaped eyes that are set well apart. The eye color is dark to medium brown. The ears are medium-sized and fall on each side of the head. The tail has a thick base that tapers to the tip.

The coat is coarse and short without an undercoat.

Coat colors come in all shades of brindle, from warm dark brown to pale gray or blond and all shades of fawn to sandy. There may be white marks on the chest, at the base of the neck or throat, forefeet and toes of hind feet. This breed has a mask that is always black and should not spread above eye level.

Consider getting your Presa Canario jumping at dog competitions. They love having a job to do! This breed is known to excel at competitions that test agility, obedience, and strength. Itโ€™s another good option to keep her physically and mentally stimulated.

The Perro de Presa Canario is a breed with working instincts. It is naturally dominant with the potential to assert aggression. After all, it was originally used to attack wild dogs and defend livestock.

Because of this, Presa Canario training should involve early socialization and obedience. With an experienced dog owner at the helm, it can grow to be an exceptionally behaved pet that is intelligent, loyal, and confident.

The Canary Mastiff will be docile towards family members โ€“ especially her master. But, be wary about leaving her around other dogs, strangers or small children. The dominating alpha nature tends to kick in!

You cannot be uncomfortable around this dog and must demonstrate that you are the boss. That is why we do not recommend this breed for first-time dog owners.

If youโ€™re looking for a dog that wonโ€™t disperse fur all over your house, the Perro de Presa Canario has the coat of your dreams!

Short hair and no undercoat means low shedding and easy grooming for the Presa Canario. Weekly brushings are recommended to keep that luxurious coat healthy and shiny.

Presa Canario colors are of great importance pertaining to the breed standard. Fawn or brindle is accepted, as well as only 20% of white coloring on the chest, feet and muzzle. A full black coat is a hot debate, with the AKC-FSS, UKC and UPPCC accepting it, but not the FCI.

A black face mask that doesnโ€™t pass the eyes is necessary for a Presa Canario to be considered purebred.

When a Presa Canario is full-grown, it can reach an impressive height of 26 inches (66 cm) and weigh up to 130 lbs (59 kg).

A Presa Canario with cropped ears is tradition, so the ears wonโ€™t interfere while the dog is working with cattle.

The history of the Presa Canario is carefully recorded, evoking mystique and awe for the breed. The Presa Canarioโ€™s history dates back to the 15th century when it was first brought to the Canary Islands by the Spanish conquistadors.

Muscular, fearless and attentive, this dog was bred for work. Farmers on the islands were continually dealing with packs of feral dogs that would attack their livestock. The Presa was the answer and became the ultimate protector.

Unfortunately, it was also used for dog fighting due to its Mastiff strength and clutching genes, which are said to be inherited from Alano, a type of Bulldog ancestor.

In the mid-1940s, fighting was outlawed and the Presa Canario was regulated to official breeders for the preservation of the species.
