A historic moment unfolded today in the Cholistan Desert as the rare caracal cat was spotted in its natural habitat for the first time. The majestic feline was seen in hunting mode, with a herd of chinkara deer nearby, making the sighting even more extraordinary.

The caracal, an endangered species in Pakistan, is notoriously elusive, especially in arid and semi-desert regions like Cholistan. This rare sighting highlights both the ecological health of the area and the success of ongoing wildlife monitoring and conservation efforts.
