My Only rule is that when the dog is tasked with a search, it should indicate immediately on the first pass if there's a potential threat. If there's no indication, and the dog shows a change in behavior, then a second pass can be considered. After all, life is precious and can't be taken for granted.

It's look like impossible to others but we are developing or teaching the dog is to operate independently, without relying on or waiting for commands from the handler, in order to minimize handler influence....
