🐾 Storm the Canine Distemper Infection Survivor!
Today we celebrate a very special victory. Our brave patient STORM has officially been discharged from confinement and is now back home — happy, active, and enjoying life again with his family! 🐶💙
Storm came to us battling Canine Distemper Virus (CDV), a serious and potentially life-threatening viral disease in dogs. It wasn’t an easy journey. There were days of close monitoring, supportive care, and a lot of patience. But Storm showed incredible strength — and with the dedication of his furparents and the veterinary team, he pulled through like a true warrior.
Seeing him wag his tail, bright-eyed and full of life again, is the kind of moment that fills our hearts with joy. This is why we do what we do. ❤️
✨ What is Canine Distemper?
Canine Distemper is a highly contagious viral disease that affects a dog’s:
• Respiratory system (lungs)
• Gastrointestinal system (stomach and intestines)
• Nervous system (brain and nerves)
Common signs may include:
🐾 Fever
🐾 Nasal and eye discharge
🐾 Coughing
🐾 Vomiting or diarrhea
🐾 Weakness or lethargy
🐾 Neurological signs like twitching or seizures
Because it affects multiple body systems, distemper can be very dangerous, especially for puppies and unvaccinated dogs.
💉 Good news: Distemper is preventable!
The core vaccination (DHPP) is highly effective in protecting dogs from this disease. Keeping your pets fully vaccinated and updated is the best defense.
Storm’s story is a reminder that while distemper can be a tough battle, with early veterinary care, proper treatment, and strong support from loving furparents, recovery is possible.
Welcome home, Storm. Your strength has truly lived up to your name. 🌪️🐾
