CHOCO’S JOURNEY AGAINST PARVOVIRUS

Every recovery begins with hope—and Choco’s story is proof that miracles happen through timely veterinary care, determination, and the unwavering love of devoted furparents.

When Choco came to us, he was diagnosed with Canine Parvovirus, a life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention. Through intensive hospitalization, intravenous fluids, medications, nutritional support, and round-the-clock monitoring, Choco bravely fought each day.

There were difficult moments, but Choco never gave up—and neither did our veterinary team or his loving family.

Today, Choco is stronger, brighter, and on the road to a healthy, happy life. His journey reminds us that with early intervention and proper treatment, parvovirus can be beaten.

Remember: Vaccination is the best protection against parvovirus. Keep your pets’ vaccinations up to date and seek veterinary care immediately if they show signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, or lethargy.

Atom was found weak, panting heavily, and almost collapsed due to extreme high temperature. Through immediate veterinary intervention, intensive monitoring fluid therapy, and supportive care, Atom fought hard and now on his road to recovery.

How to Distinguish Heat Stroke
• Excessive panting
• Bright red, pale, or bluish gums
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting and/or diarrhea
• Disorientation, wobbliness, or seizures
• Body temperature above 40°C

First Aid for Heat Stroke
✅ Move your pet to a cool, shaded, and well-ventilated area.
✅ Offer small amounts of cool drinking water.
✅ Wet the paws, belly, armpits, and groin with cool water.
✅ Use a fan to aid cooling.
✅ Seek veterinary attention immediately.

❌ Do NOT use ice baths or ice-cold water, as this can worsen the condition.

Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency that can rapidly affect multiple organs. Early recognition and prompt treatment can save lives.

PEPPER’S JOURNEY TO HEALING

When Pepper was rushed to WellFur Veterinary Services, he was weak and lethargic. Upon immediate examination, our veterinarian detected a markedly distended urinary bladder, indicating a life-threatening urinary obstruction.

Our team quickly performed diagnostic tests and began stabilization to relieve his discomfort and address his critical condition. Despite several days of intensive medical management and catheterization, Pepper’s urine output remained poor, signaling that a more serious underlying problem was present.

With the approval and trust of his loving furparents, we proceeded with a Perineal Urethrostomy and Cystotomy surgical procedure. During surgery, we discovered a large blood clot within the urinary bladder causing complete urethral obstruction. We also found significant lesions and bleeding in the bladder wall, likely caused by prolonged overdistention from the obstruction.

Thanks to timely intervention, advanced surgical care, diligent monitoring, and the unwavering support of his family, Pepper overcame this difficult battle. Today, he is recovering well and looking forward to a brighter, healthier future.

Pepper’s story is a reminder that urinary obstruction is a medical emergency. Early recognition and prompt veterinary care can save lives.

Thank you to Pepper’s furparents for entrusting us with his care and for making difficult decisions in the best interest of their beloved companion.
