Cheewy vs. Bladder Stones: Rockstar Pup in Action! ⭐️
Cheewy, a 4-year-old female Shih Tzu, was once a lively and energetic dog until she suddenly became lethargic. Concerned, her furparents brought her to the clinic for a check-up.
During a thorough physical examination, the veterinarian noticed that Cheewy's bladder was distended. She was immediately taken for an X-ray, which revealed a surprising and serious issue, her bladder was filled with stones.
To save Cheewy, the vet recommended a surgical procedure called a cystotomy to remove the stones from her bladder.
The stones removed were identified as struvites, a common type of bladder stone in dogs, particularly in females. These are often linked to urinary tract infections (UTIs).
After the surgery, Cheewy was placed on a special diet and encouraged to drink more water. She is now recovering well and will return to the clinic for follow-up checkups ♥️
