๐ฃ๐ฃVINA's UPDATE: A Binos Sobrecarey rescue๐ฃ๐ฃ
After almost 2 weeks of uncertainty, close monitorings, series of blood tests and anxieties, we are glad to announce that VINA has been discharged๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
She was reported to be on active labor for 2 days before she was rescued. Upon initial assessment, she she needed to undergo CAESARIAN SECTION. Despite being anemic and positive of EHRLICHIOSIS, BABESIOSIS and ANAPLASMOSIS, she was subjected to the surgery. All her puppies inside were all dead and were starting to rot at the time of the operation. She was on hot packs for several days because her temperature was unstable. Fast forward several days and we saw improvements on her - small but very overwhelming - started to lick her food, stands on her own. But these small improvements came with a price, her teats became inflammed and her WBC count shot up again that we feared she might have a SEPSIS. With several days again of draining her teats and warm compresses, we managed it well.
This brave girl defied death and we are seeing a light of hope and happiness in her eyes. Without the help of the persons behind her rescue, she would not be able to come this far.
To the people who prayed and donated for her, may you be blesses with a hundred folds. Thank you also to the persons who reported and became the bridge for this girl's rescue. To Heaven on Earth Animal Rescue and Shelter (HEARS) rescuers and most especially to the founder, a million thanks will never be enough for your compassion and dedication in this advocacy.

๐จ๐จNOTHING IS AS HAPPY AS A LIFE BEING FREED FROM THE SHACKLES OF DEATH๐จ๐จ
This is PAOLA, a rescued dog from Mabini, Davao de Oro. She was rescued as there were reports that she is on a waiting list to be slaughtered. She is a very fine furball. Shy at first until she opened up herself when she felt the sincere care and love of the rescuers and the clinic staff. She became naughty, playful and sweet, and she likes belly rubs too.

๐ถ๐พHENYO: BATTLE AGAINST HEARTWORM๐พ๐ถ
This is HENYO, a docile and friendly Aspin left at the Animal Shelter by his owner who passed away recently. Our fairy godmother who adopted him wanted him to be screened for any disease thay may be lurking inside him. Upon testing, we found out that he is positive of BABESIOSIS, a type of blood parasitism that can be acquired from ticks. Additionally, he was also positive of CANINE HEARTWORM, a kind of worm that differs from the common intestinal worms in which they are not killed by our regular dewormers and can be transmitted thru MOSQUITOES.
Henyo has undergone 2 shots of ADULTICIDE to kill the adult worms inside him and is on his medications. He will be back after several months for this heartworm preventives.

Remember Rui the 6 month old Lab retriever who experienced XYLITOL TOXICITY? This is him after 9days from confinement. He has consistently showed improvements day by day. He was brought again to the clinic for his follow up blood tests and we are happy to say that he is recovering well. He also regained his appetite and is back to his usual self.
We thank everyone who in one way or another included this magnificent baby in their prayers. We also thank the furparents Maam Portia and sir Archie for cheering Rui up in every visits.

Otodectes (ear mites) in a healthy male persian cat presented with alopecia (bald portion) of the face and behind the ears. The owner wanted to address the cause of the condition but since the cat is newly bathed, skin testing was discouraged. Both ears were checked and viola!!!! Ear mites partying under the microscope.
