: Five stray dogs โ€” two females and three males โ€” were caught during the Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release (CNVR) operation held on Friday, May 22, in Brgy. 5-A, Tacloban City.

The strays were brought to the CVO for the sterilization procedure performed by Chief Veterinarian Dr. Eunice J. Alcantara and Dr. Johdel Ty.

After the operation, the sterilized dogs were given the necessary medications, including anti-rabies vaccines, antibiotics, and vitamins, before being released back to their original locations.
To date, a total of 232 strays have already undergone the CNVR program.

Meanwhile, several walk-in clients were also served through the veterinary officeโ€™s basic services, including anti-rabies vaccination, deworming treatments, and free consultations facilitated by Dr. Alcantara and Dr. Ty.

LOOK: As part of the CVOโ€™s anti-rabies mass vaccination campaign conducted on Friday, May 22, vaccinators visited three barangays and successfully vaccinated a total of 181cats and dogs. IN PHOTOS: Six barangays in the downtown area were visited by CVO vaccinators on Thursday, May 21, resulting in the vaccination of a total of 116 cats and dogs against rabies. Specifically, 31 pets were vaccinated in Brgy. 23 Salazar and another 39 in Brgy. 23-A. Meanwhile, Barangays 16 and 13 recorded 7 and 5 vaccinated dogs, respectively, while 28 and 6 domestic pets were vaccinated in Barangays 14 and 15.

The barangay vaccination activities are part of the CVOโ€™s ongoing campaign against rabies.

CVO SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES CNVR ACTIVITY IN BRGY. 109-A

During the second day of the Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release (CNVR) operations in Brgy. 109-A V&G Subdivision on Thursday, May 21, a total of six stray dogs โ€” two females and four males โ€” were successfully sterilized by CVO Head Dr. Eunice J. Alcantara and Dr. Johdel Ty. The procedures were conducted on-site at the Barangay Hall with the assistance of veterinary staff and barangay officials.

Coinciding with the CNVR activity, the veterinary office also provided free deworming to 65 domestic pets and administered free anti-rabies vaccinations to 61 pets.

After receiving post-operative care and medication, including anti-rabies vaccination, antibiotics, and vitamins, the sterilized stray dogs were returned to their original locations.

CITY VETERINARY OFFICE CONDUCTS CNVR PROGRAM IN BRGY. 109-A

The City Veterinary Office (CVO) conducted its Catchโ€“Neuterโ€“Vaccinateโ€“Release (CNVR) Program on Wednesday, May 20, at the Barangay Hall in Brgy. 109-A, Tacloban City, serving a total of 10 stray dogs.

The sterilization procedures for the street dogs, which were captured by CVO Animal Control Officers, were spearheaded by Chief Veterinarian Dr. Eunice J. Alcantara, alongside Dr. Johdel Ty. Of the total number of dogs served, two were female and 8 were male.

After undergoing the procedure, the dogs were properly tagged and given post-operative care, including vitamins, antibiotics, and anti-rabies vaccination. Following several hours of observation, the animals were safely returned to their respective areas.

With this latest activity, the total number of stray dogs served under the CNVR Program has reached .

Residents in the area also benefited from basic veterinary services provided during the activity, including 38 deworming treatments and 37 anti-rabies vaccinations.

The CVO partnered with local officials of Brgy. 109-A to ensure the programโ€™s successful ex*****on. Barangay Chairman Ariel Rex M. Lledo, together with his Councilors and other local officials, played an instrumental role in supporting the initiative.

The program reflects the CVOโ€™s steadfast dedication to fostering responsible pet ownership and heightening anti-rabies awareness among Tacloban City residents.

: CVO vaccinators conducted rounds in four barangays on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as part of the Mass Vaccination Activity against rabies. A total of 118 domestic pets were vaccinated in Barangay 83-A San Jose, 12 in Barangay 35, and 23 in Barangay 35-A, bringing the total number of pets protected against rabies to 153.
