🌾 A JOURNEY TO REMEMBER: DIKO’S THOUSAND-KILOMETER LEARNING ADVENTURE
Looking back, one of the most meaningful chapters in our farm’s learning journey was the 15-day immersion program that took us across three provinces in Region 8, in partnership with VSU’s 4th Year BSAB interns.
This thousand-kilometer travel was more than just a benchmarking activity, it was a gathering of wisdom, hospitality, and connection among farms, farmers, and future changemakers.
We remain deeply grateful to the following individuals and learning sites who welcomed us with open hearts and helped shape the experience:
Sir Jeremias Medalla, Cala-ag Agricultural Farm, Leyte Leyte
Nanay Yoling Tabuquilde, Diko’s Satellite Farm, Basey Samar
Sir Jun Sumalabe, Lolo Pabs Integrated Farm, Gandara Samar
Sir Joper Conarco, ONE-SAOP Gandara, Gandara Samar
Capt. Martin, D’Martini Farm, Gandara Samar
Sir Reynaldo Panganiban, R&R Agricultural Farm, Calbayog Samar
Bukid ni Manang, Calbayog Samar
Sir William Cruz, Yadad’s Integrated Farm, Macrohon, Southern Leyte
Vice Mayor Nick Tahup, NickJoy Integrated Farm, Tomas Oppus, Southern Leyte
Ma’am Vanessa Abuyabor, Uncle Job’s Farm, Mahaplag, Leyte
Sir James Tan, Tempesto Rice Farm, Ormoc City
Each farm not only opened their fields for lectures, demos, and best practice sharing, but also offered us homecooked meals, heartfelt stories, and scenic side trips that made this journey unforgettable.
This experience affirmed how the ATI-RTC 8 learning sites are not just farms — they are interconnected spaces of inspiration, growth, and mentorship for the next generation of young Filipino farmers.
From all of us at Diko’s Integrated Farm, thank you for being part of our journey.
Mabuhay kayo! 🌿💚🌿
