Traditional Castration Complication.

The owner brought Yoyo to her friend who performs traditional castration. A week after, Yoyo had complications and was presented to our clinic with an exposed, swollen, improperly cut spermatic cord. Surgery was done to correct and remove the swollen parts.

A reminder to our furparents that dogs, including ASPINS, can also feel and let us not subject them to unnecessary pain.

The importance of having your pets vaccinated by a veterinarian.

When you bring your pets to a vet for vaccination, your vet will thoroughly check them first to ensure that they are healthy and fit. This is to avoid the possible negative effect of vaccinating an already sick dog.

This video is a stool sample of a "healthy looking puppy" under a microscope. As you can see, there is the presence of parasites, giardia. Giardia is a protozoa that may have been harbored by the puppy from contaminated water. This parasite may cause diarrhea and, in some cases, vomiting. The puppy may have looked healthy, but if vaccinated while infected with this parasite, it may have compromised his immune system.

Vaccine shots given to an immunocompromised dog or cat may result in a failure to provide immunity.
