The virus attacks white blood cells and the gastrointestinal tract of dogs and other canids like coyotes, wolves, and foxes. In puppies, the virus also can damage the heart muscle.๐จ

Sushi a Mini Pinscher brought to our clinic last night December 29, 2024 @ 6:50pm for an Emergency Cesarian Section due to dystocia.
She had 4 puppies but unfortunately, one died (hydro puppy). ๐ข
What is Hydro puppy? ๐ค
Hydro puppy or water puppy in dog terms refers to a puppy born with a condition called "anasarca", where the puppy has excessive fluid buildup under the skin, causing significant swelling, making them appear like they are filled with water.
Medical Term: Anasarca
Cause:
The exact cause is not fully understood, but it is believe to be related to genetic factors and may aggravated by issues during pregnancy.
