PROPTOSIS is where the eyeball pops out of the eye socket. This condition is most common in brachycephalic breeds such as shih tzus and pugs.

If your dog happened to have this, first aid is to cover the eye with gauze. Wet the gauze with saline solution to keep it from drying and bring your pet to the vet asap for surgical correction to save the popped eye.

This girl underwent TEMPORARY TARSORRHAPHY procedure or temporary closure of the eyelids to prevent the eye from drying and to prevent it from further damage. This is done under anesthesia.

This will stay like this for a while until swelling subsides.

"SAAN NAKUKUHA ANG RABIES?"

Ang RABIES ay isang nakakamatay na virus na nag-aapekto ng mammals gaya ng tao, a*o at pusa.

Nakukuha lamang ito sa pamamagitan ng kagat ng isang RABID na HAYOP o tao o na contaminate na open wound ng laway ng isang rabid na hayop.

Kaya kung meron kayong alagang hayop, ipa bakuna ito laban sa rabies or ipa antirabies ito kada taon.

Huwag isa walang bahala ang pagbabakuna ng ating mga alaga laban sa rabies.

Lahat ng alaga, may breed o wala, nakakulong o nasa loob ng bahay man o nasa labas ng bahay ay kailangang IPA ANTI RABIES.

Ang rabies ay walang gamot at ito nakamamatay.

Ang rabies ay isang virus na nakakaapekto sa utak ng isang may rabies a*o o pusa.

Kalimitang apektado ang mga hayop na hindi nabakunahan ng ANTIRABIES.

-Bigla itong walang ganang kumain.
-Bigla itong nag-iiba ng ugali. Yung dating mabait at masayahing a*o ay bigla na lang nang-aaway o nangangagat ng walang dahilan. Sa pusa naman ay biglang tatahimik at susugod bigla ng walang dahilan.
-Naglalaway. Natatakot. Nangingisay. Bumubula ang bibig.
-Dahil apektado ang utak ng isang may rabies na a*o, ito ay nangangagat ng lahat ng living & non-living things.
-Hindi tumatagal at namamatay within 7 days ang hayop na may rabies.

Walang gamot para sa rabies. Ang rabies ay nakakamatay.

"NAKA KAGAT PO ANG ALAGA KO, MAAARI KO PO BA SYANG PABAKUNAHAN?"

RA NO 9482 (Anti-Rabies Act of 2007) states that Pet Owners who fail or refuse to have their Dog registered and immunized against Rabies shall be punished by a fine of Two thousand pesos (P2,000.00).

Maraming pet owners na kung kelan pa naka kagat ang alaga, dun pa ito pabakunahan.

As a precaution, ang hayop na naka kagat ay ina advice na ikulong o itali for 7 days observation. Ang hayop ay namamatay within 7 days kapag ito ay may rabies.

My POV, pwede pong pabakunahan ang ating mga alaga, may kinagat man ito o wala, then ipa observe for 1 week.

Mahalagang pabakunahan ang ating mga alaga, may breed man o wala at gawin ito kada taon.

Ang pagpapabakuna ng mga alaga ay isang RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP.

NAPAKADELIKADO NG RABIES. WALANG GAMOT ANG RABIES. NAKAMAMATAY ANG RABIES.

Maaari lamang itong maiwasan sa pamamagitan ng pagbabakuna ng ating mga hayop. Meron ding pre-exposure vaccine para sa mga tao.
