Sniffling cats? It might be Feline Respiratory Disease Complex! 😿💨

This is a common and contagious illness in cats caused by viruses and bacteria — mostly feline herpesvirus and calicivirus.

🩺 Common symptoms:
– Sneezing
– Coughing
– Eye and nose discharge
– Red or swollen eyes
– Mouth ulcers
– Loss of appetite and fever

🐱 Kittens, shelter cats, and multi-cat homes are most at risk.
😷 Some cats can carry the virus for life — especially feline herpesvirus, which can stay dormant and reactivate when the cat is stressed.

🤧 How is it transmitted?
It spreads easily through direct contact, grooming, sneezing, or shared food bowls, litter boxes, and even blankets.

💉 Prevention is key!
Vaccinate your cat with the 4-in-1 vaccine, which protects against:
✔️ Feline Herpesvirus (FHV)
✔️ Feline Calicivirus (FCV)
✔️ Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV)
✔️ Feline Chlamydophila (Chlamydia)

If your cat shows any signs, don’t wait — early vet care can help them recover faster and avoid complications.

“BORN WITH RABIES? NOT TRUE! 🐶🐱🛑”

There are still many misconceptions about rabies. Some believe that dogs or cats are born with rabies and it only gets "triggered" when they bite — this is completely FALSE.

🧠 Fact: Rabies is caused by a virus transmitted through the saliva of infected animals, usually via bites. Pets are NOT born with it.

💀 Fact: Once symptoms appear, rabies is 100% fatal. If a pet truly has rabies, it will die within days or weeks — it cannot stay hidden for months or years.

⚠️ And with recent news of humans in the Philippines dying from rabies, it's more important than ever to stay informed and protected.

✅ What to do:
– Vaccinate your pets yearly
– Don’t delay vet visits after bites or unusual behavior
– Educate others to prevent fear and misinformation

Let’s protect each other — pets and humans alike.

“Why is my bearded dragon always opening its mouth?”
This behavior is called gaping, and it’s completely normal for bearded dragons like Zeke, Dr. Kim’s personal pet in the photo!

Here’s why they do it:
– To cool down when they’re basking under their heat lamp
– To show dominance or act defensive
– To relax, believe it or not!
– But if your beardie is also wheezing or has mucus, it might be time for a vet check-up.

So don’t worry — most of the time, gaping is just your beardie being a beardie!

Parvo is still out there — protect your pups early!
These adorable Corgi pups just got their 2nd 6-in-1 vaccine — one step closer to full protection!

Vaccination starts at 6 weeks old (1 ½ months) and should be boosted every 2–3 weeks for 4 to 5 rounds.
Parvovirus is deadly and still very common in the Philippines. Early prevention is the best protection!

Warning signs of parvo include vomiting and diarrhea, sometimes with blood.
If your puppy hasn’t completed their vaccines yet, don’t let them roam outside and don’t allow them to lick your outdoor shoes or slippers.

Protect their little paws — start their vaccines on time!

Meet Lucky — a true survivor and fighter.

Once a stray, abandoned and in pain, Lucky was rescued by the kind-hearted Villaverde couple and brought to our clinic. She came in with severe mange, injured eyes, and a large mass coming out from her v***a. What seemed like a vaginal prolapse turned out to be her bladder.

Lucky underwent three surgeries: spay, cystopexy (to keep her bladder where it belongs), and a second stitching after she accidentally removed her sutures while recovering.

Today, Lucky is thriving. Her skin has healed, her fur is growing back beautifully, her eyes are bright, and there’s no more prolapse. She truly lives up to her name.

We hope more people will be like the Villaverde couple — ready to show compassion and give these animals a second chance at life.

From rescue to recovery — this is why we do what we do.
