Entry #7

YARD OF MISERY
by: Kalimbahin

Tainted air shrouds the hallway
Full of rows of soldiers
Not even scared in any way
Facing the poisonous carriers

White gowns, clear sunglasses
Every cloth to cover those lovely faces
Holding their strange-looking guns
They don't want to miss any chance

Holding the desperation
To rush home like it's a holiday
But they're stuck in this deadly mission
That they ought to do back in the day

Loved ones waiting patiently
At home, where they should be
Taking care of a complete stranger
Throwing their life in danger

Coughs, sneezes and heartbeat sounds
Like its their daily music
But they stood firmly on these white grounds
Like the heroes in books of epics

"Can we still survive another day?"
That same question from yesterday
Uncertainty flows through the streets
Through where it reaches their feet

Behind those suffocating masks
Their sweet smiles in disguise
Four words in their heads, if you will ask?
"Together we'll still rise."

But they don’t have just one enemy
Captious eyes in the darkness, you see
Too disgusted to touch his fellow's skin
Added to their long list of sins

Go ahead and turn a blind eye
Swallow the twisted lies
Then wait for the next batch of warriors
And clear a grave for these lonely saviors

Open your windows and see
The same air and place we used to be
Applaud for those who seek
Tears of fear come rushing through their cheeks

For another brave soul is added
Carved in the hearts of a hundred
With their names perfectly etched
In the book of sorrow, the book of death

Bravery, is their last memory
As they sleep in deadly peace
In the ancient yard of misery

The true warrior fights not because he hates the one in front of him, but because he loves those behind him.

Many see the warrior as a brute who loves to fight and hates his enemies so much that he is willing to destroy them, but this is not really accurate. The true warrior doesn't fight because he hates the one he is fighting. Rather he fights because he loves what he is protecting. There is a big difference.

Have you ever wondered how the warrior can meditate, be holistic, walk in love, and yet train to injure or kill another person? This is the key to the answer to that question. The warrior knows better than to harbor hate in his heart. Hate is a negative energy that weakens your heart and mind, clouds your thoughts, and has bad affects on the body as a whole, such as causing diseases and even cancer, according to some studies.

None of these are things which the warrior wants to cultivate. The warrior needs to have a strong heart and mind, clear, rational thoughts, and a strong body. He (or she) stays away from things that go against his goals as a warrior. He stays away from hate, long-term anger, malice, and negative energy of any kind.

Wise warriors use love as their motivation - the love of life, the love for those around him, for his family, and for his principles. These things strengthen the warrior instead of weakening him, and ready him to do whatever he must to keep those he loves safe.
