OREO won Against Parvo

Oreo was rushed to the clinic with signs of lethargy and pale gums. Prior to this, she vomited and defecated roundworms. Oreo has not received her core vaccines yet.

Oreo was tested for Canine Parvo Virus and sadly , her result came back POSITIVE.

Aggressive treatment was given since we are battling multiple conditions (ie. dehydration, parasitism and numerous secondary bacterial infections) to name a few. Fortunately, she responded well to the treatment and is well on her to make a full recovery.

GOOD JOB OREO!
SMVC is proud of you!
See you on your wellness schedule 😊

PUTI's SUCCESS STORY

Puti was rushed to the clinic one afternoon with the following presenting signs,
scratching on the mouth area and shaking of the head; upon careful inspection it was discovered that something foreign/unusual was lodged in between his molars.

Minor bleeding was evident due to Puti's constant scratching, trying to remove what was lodged inside his mouth.

Dr. Kyle, not wasting any precious time tailored Puti's treatment plan & decided to sedate him to safely remove the foreign object.

While Puti was sedated, Dr. Kyle was able to SUCCESSFULLY REMOVE the Foreign object and ensure that there were no other related trauma brought about by Puti's scratching at the oral cavity extending through his throat.

The CULPRIT, a PIECE OF Shirt HANGER! 😵‍💫
PUTI was sent home shortly after, with his tails wagging. 🐶🙏🏻

FLUTD
(Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease)

Patient was brought in for a consult due to difficulty in urinating (dysuria). The patient attempts to urinate at the litter box but little to no urine out put was observed by the owners. Patient seemed to be in pain and the abdomen is tensed when palpated/examined.

Thorough physical examination followed by recommended laboratory tests such as,
CBC, BLOOD CHEMISTRY, URINALYSIS & ULTRASONOGRAPHY (ULTRASOUND) were done. After immediate intervention, the Veterinarian placed a urinary catheter to help the patient relieve its distended bladder. Urine sample was obtained for further testing.

After confinement & treatment at SanMiguel Veterinary Clinic, patient was able to urinate normally and was sent home with prescribed meds to recover at the loving furparents care 🐾🐾

IVERMECTIN TOXICITY IN DOGS

Patient Lucky came in for treatment and consultation due to loss of appetite, lethargy, hyporthermia (abnormally low body temperature) incoordination and tremors.

After a detailed history taking, our Veterinarian found out that the patient ingested Ivermectin in powder form, Ivermectin, a potent anti parasitic can harm dogs and cats when consumed without supervision and correct dosage. Treatment plan was carefully laid out for this poor pup.

Fortunately, Lucky recovered after receiving treatment at SanMiguel Veterinary Clinic, and was sent home to regain his strength. Kudos to SMVC staff and to the owners for bringing Lucky immediately at the clinic.

NOTE : IVERMECTIN SHOULD NOT BE ADMINISTERED OR GIVEN AT HOME.
IVERMECTIN SHOULD ONLY BE GIVEN BY VETERINARIANS.

EYE ENUCLEATION
EMERGENCY SURGERY 🚨‼️

SKY, a 3 year old canine patient went in for consultation and treatment due to traumatic
EYE BALL displacement which led the tissue surrounding it to bleed uncontrollably. The patient's case was due to a dog fight.

Fortunately, our Veterinary Doctors on duty were quick to asses the patient's condition and gave the necessary treatment to Sky. Severe trauma, and loss of function of the affected eye is suggestive of EYE ENUCLEATION/SURGICAL REMOVAL.

Surgery was done and Sky is now recovering at the clinic waiting to be discharged once she is stable and ready to be taken care of at home.

Get well soon SKY!
