I dont have a sifting litter box yet!
Use household basket trays! We line them with any plastic bags (thick paperbags work too!)

Note that cats generally want bigger boxes to do their business, but for starters, this can be a good alternative!

How to use wood pellet litter exactly?
Use a sifting litter box! How it works is that the dry pellets sit on top. When it is peed on, it turns into saw dust, enough to be sifted through the tray for disposal or composting.

Pro tip: sift your boxes at least once a day! It helps cats feel comfortable when they know their boxes are clean!
