Official Statement from LUDLA

After seeing the circulating video of alleged animal cruelty, our group La Union Dog Lovers Association and Rescue (LUDLA) immediately went to Brgy. Natividad, Naguilian to verify the incident.

The person in the video explained his side. He had no intention to hurt the dog; he was only disciplining it because it is a bit aggressive and almost bit someone. He admitted his mistake and agreed not to repeat it.

He voluntarily invited us to his house to check the dog. We confirmed the dog has no injuries, and we advised him on proper pet handling.

May this be a reminder that animals have feelings too and deserve to be loved like family.

*OFFICIAL RESCUE REPORT*

We have successfully rescued *four (4) dogs* from an individual after we discovered that the dogs were being sold.

According to the owner, he can no longer afford to sustain and feed the dogs. In exchange for *one sack of rice*, the owner voluntarily surrendered the dogs to our care.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Sudipen Police for their assistance during the rescue operation.

This rescue was conducted by *La Union Animal Rescue* in partnership with the La Union Dog Lovers Association

The dogs are now safe and under our care. They will be rehabilitated and prepared for rehoming.

Thank you, Sudipen Police Station, for assisting in addressing the individuals involved in the illegal slaughter of a dog.

May this serve as a lesson to everyone that the slaughter and abandonment of dogs are serious acts that carry corresponding penalties under the law. Let this be a reminder that animal cruelty will not be tolerated, and that those responsible must be held accountable.

A heartfelt thank you to the La Union Dog Lovers Association (LUDLA) and La Union Animal Rescue for their unwavering efforts in rescuing, protecting, and standing up for animals in need. 🐾❤️
