We are beyond words for having been part of the successful kick-off of the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) 2025 held at the Senate of the Philippines.

Hiyas Urban Mushroom Farm, together with other YFC finalists, got the rare chance of showcasing and presenting its products to the program sponsor herself, the mother of YFC, Senator Imee R. Marcos. ✨️

It was also equally overwhelming to present our products to the Undersecretary for High Value Crops, USec. Cheryl Marie Natividad - Caballero and to the Assistant Secretary for Agribusiness, Marketing, and Consumer Affairs, Atty. Genevieve Velicaria - Guevarra. As a micro-agribusiness enterprise, it is very empowering to hear positive and encouraging words from high DA officials because the truth is that the challenges we experience can sometimes pull us down and leave us despirited. Definitely, this opportunity was one for the books. 🫶

Empowering and inspiring communities to venture into agriculture and mushroom farming, one at a time 🍄 🌿✨️

Last August 15, we got the chance to give basic mushroom training for the farmers, Dumagat representatives, and local agriculture enthusiasts of Sitio Wawa, Brgy. San Rafael, Montalban, Rizal, in collaboration with Montalban Livelihood, Municipal Agriculture Office - Rodriguez, Montalban, and GEM organization. This event was not only an opportunity for learning. It was also an avenue to encourage more people to venture into agriculture and, most especially, to relive the passion of some despirited farmers 🔥

We also had the opportunity to meet some of our upland farmers who have the willpower to uplift the local agriculture sector of Sitio Wawa. Shout out to Sir Jun and her nieces (photo #2). We are greatly awed by their mission to create an inclusive and robust farmers' organization in their community to open more opportunities for their fellow rural farmers 💪🌿

It was a humbling experience to share the journey of Hiyas Urban Mushroom Farm during the Usapang Agribiz Investment Forum held at the WOFEX - World Food Expo 2025 in Pasay City 🌿

Just like in any other business enterprise, one should be passionate and dedicated in pursuing a venture. But it doesn't stop there. One should also be ready for the challenges that will be encountered along the way, must be willing to learn the technicalities in running a business, and should have the grit to push the venture to greater heights 🏆As a social enterprise, there should be a balance between profit and impact to be truly successful.

In our journey as young agripreneurs, the Young Farmers Challenge Program played a significant role; and for that, we are truly grateful. Along the way, we made valuable friendships with other inspiring young agripreneurs who are making great impacts in their respective communities as well.

We still have a long way to go, and definitely, we still have many things to learn and improve... at 'yon ang exciting part! ✨️

As what our fellow young farmer and dear friend, Sir , said, "Ang perfect time to start your dream business ay hindi kahapon, hindi bukas o sa isang araw, kundi ngayon na." So, if you're already starting that big dream even with just little steps, congratulations! 🎉🥂 Cheers to every small win and every challenge solved.
