Pancreatitis can range from silent to fatal, and it’s almost always blamed on fat. But if that’s true…why do so many pets on ultra-low-fat diets still struggle with chronic pancreatitis? 🤔

Today at 12pm ET on the Inside Scoop, we’re breaking down all things pancreatitis with Dr. Nick Thompson (), including why fat isn’t always the enemy and why all raw diets are NOT created equal.

We’ll cover bad and oxidized fats, acute vs. chronic pancreatitis, warning signs, plus homemade low-fat recipes and supplements to support recovery.

👉 Comment SCOOPERS and we’ll send you the link to join our Planet Paws subscription group and watch today’s episode Live on Facebook. And when you subscribe to our community website, you’ll also get access to the entire 6+ years of past episodes, expert interviews, ebooks, and more.

This is a must-watch if your pet has had pancreatitis…or you want to prevent it. 🐾

New peer-reviewed veterinary microbiome research shows that when key gut microbes are missing or damaged, dogs can struggle to digest and absorb protein, leading to GI issues like diarrhea, gas, and nutrient gaps even on a “complete & balanced” diet. This landmark Waltham study revealed dogs have a unique gut microbiome, uncovering 900+ new dog-specific strains, including 89 new species and 10 entirely new genera. The research shows the microbiome acts like a metabolic organ, helping regulate amino acids, vitamins, energy, and immune function, so when it’s disrupted, nutrition suffers.

That’s where targeted probiotics matter. Not all probiotics are equal; strains that support amino acid handling, B-vitamin pathways, and SCFA production are far more relevant for metabolic and GI health. That’s why Dr. Becker developed PRIMITIVE PROBIOTICS™, featuring science-backed strains like OptiBiome BS50® (Bacillus subtilis), a spore-former that produces protease enzymes to improve protein breakdown and nutrient absorption, helping dogs better use what’s already in their food.

If you have some time to spare, maybe you can help us stay open in the next months. 🙏🏼

It’s been a rough week for us. Trying to fit the stray feeding budget, the upkeep of the clinic, and the rescues’ treatment needs — into our very small profit and savings have been close to impossible.

If we could register as a non-profit we would but it’s too complicated so yes, we have a lot of mandatories to pay for.

We hope you can help us by dropping by, a simple check up, a session of deworming — it’s a big help. One client can feed ten to fifteen cats. When we’re lucky, we get to buy the much needed medications of some of our rescues too.

So if you’re not busy, please share our posts, or invite friends to come over. We need all the help. Thank you.

Love,
Your CAC

What’s great about food pyramids? They create conversations about nutrition where people learn!

What do you think about this one?

I did leave your favourite pair of socks off there 😂

In this photo is Cutie na for adoption parin pero bonded with Tokaya. Both Tokaya and Cutie are considered Small-Medium dogs.

Please share our post po sa mga groups ninyo para may mabigay kaming pamasko sa mga rescues. Wala ho masyadong nagbibigay ng cash donations kaya pinaglumaang gamit lang ang hinihingi namin.

A LITTLE KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY. 🙏🏻

As we brace for the arrival of Super Typhoon Uwan, let’s not forget those who have no one to turn to: the stray animals out on the streets with nowhere to seek safe shelter or call home. For them, every storm is a fight for survival, but your kindness can be their lifeline.

If you see a homeless animal struggling through the storm, please show a little kindness. Offer a dry, safe space for temporary shelter, some clean food and fresh water, or help them get medical care if they’re injured or weak. (Please always ensure your own safety by keeping your anti-rabies and other necessary vaccinations up to date when helping stray animals.)

Most importantly, let’s keep working together to advocate for spay and neuter as it’s the way we can break the cycle of suffering and prevent any more animals from having to endure a difficult life on the streets, especially during typhoons and calamities.

Every act of compassion makes a difference. If each of us helps even just one, together we can save millions of lives and create a kinder, safer world for them all. 🐾
