Lilies are extremely dangerous to pets, particularly cats, for whom ingestion of any part of the plant (petals, leaves, pollen, or vase water) can cause fatal kidney failure in less than 3 days. While "true lilies" (Asiatic, Daylilies, Easter) are the most toxic, any plant with "lily" in the name should be treated with caution.
