🐾 Giardia in Pets: What You Need to Know 🐾

Giardia is a microscopic parasite that lives in the small intestine of dogs and cats. Under a microscope, it even looks like a tiny smiley face! 😺🐶

💡 Who’s at risk?
Puppies and kittens
Pets in shelters or crowded environments
Rarely, humans (especially children)

💧 How it spreads:
Drinking contaminated water
Licking fur that has come into contact with infected f***s
Puppies and kittens can also be infected from their mother

⚠️ Signs to watch for:
Diarrhea or loose stools
Vomiting
Sometimes, pets show no obvious symptoms, so regular check-ups are important!

✅ Prevention & Care:
Practice good hygiene around your pets
Ensure clean water sources
Regular vet visits and f***l testing can help detect Giardia early

🐾 Your Pet’s Health Matters at Every Age!

Dogs should be closely monitored from puppyhood, especially once they reach 7 years old, when they enter their senior stage. Regular health checks help detect common conditions like heartworm, thyroid disease, intestinal parasites, and renal disease. As pets age, issues like arthritis may also develop, so early detection is key to helping them live longer, healthier lives.

For dogs and cats aged 1–6 years, routine monitoring is still very important. Pets in this stage can develop conditions such as heartworm, intestinal parasites, intestinal issues or malnutrition, diabetes, kidney and liver disease, infections or inflammation, anemia, and leukemia. Pet owners should also be aware of Addison’s disease, which can affect dogs as young as 6 months old.

Regular check-ups and early detection can make a big difference in your pet’s health and quality of life. Because every furbaby deserves a long, happy, and healthy life. 🐶🐱💙
