Meet Frankie🐱, a brave one-year-old cat whose journey to comfort touched all our hearts at 𝘿𝙍. 𝙇𝙊𝙑𝙀 𝙋𝙀𝙏 𝘾𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙄𝘾.

Frankie arrived with an owner deeply concerned about a persistent "infection" that sadly caused her sweet little eyeball to bulge.

It was a tough decision, but after careful consideration, 𝘦𝘺𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 was the best path forward for Frankie's comfort and long-term health.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒚𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒖𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏?

It's a surgical procedure where we gently and completely remove the eyeball. The eyelids are then stitched closed, leaving the area flat and sealed.

It sounds serious, and it is, but it's often the most humane option.

We consider enucleation when:
• An eye has suffered severe, irreparable trauma.
•There's a chronic, painful infection that isn't responding to other treatments.
•An eye has a tumor that poses a risk to the pet's health.
•Conditions like severe glaucoma cause constant pain and vision loss.

Last March 20, 2025, Brittany, a sweet 4-year-old cat arrived at Dr. Love Pet Clinic, lethargic and suffering from a painful rapid growing wound below her jaw. Her owner said that it began with a small wound but due to Brittany’s irritation and being aggressive they couldn't treat her wound with proper care and it turned into something much more serious. ☀️ Beat the Heat: Protecting Your Furry Friends from Heatstroke! 🐾

As temperatures rise, our beloved pets are at increased risk of heatstroke. Unlike humans, dogs and cats can't sweat effectively, making them more susceptible to overheating. Recognizing the signs is crucial! Look out for excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, and even seizures.

To keep your pets SAFE, always provide plenty of fresh, cool water and shade. Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day, and never leave your pet in a parked car – even with the windows cracked, the temperature can skyrocket in minutes!

Remember, brachycephalic breeds (like Pugs and Bulldogs) are particularly vulnerable due to their short snouts, so extra caution is needed.

If you suspect your pet is experiencing heatstroke, act quickly! Move them to a cool area, apply cool (not cold) water to their body, and contact your veterinarian immediately. Early intervention is key to a positive outcome.
