THEIR COLLARS AND TAGS ARE NOT ACCESSORIES. PLEASE DON'T REMOVE THEM PO ❣️❣️❣️
We received a call from a lady before asking us to remove their collars because she thinks it makes the cats feel uncomfortable and bothered by the sound of the bell. We appreciate her concern but not her tone of voice. Perhaps she forgot we are volunteers and not paid by the admin to do such task of managing the cats at the park.
We asked her who among the cats looks bothered by the collar and it's bell so we could check. She said she didn't see any cat bothered by it. But she read somewhere that it does bother the cat.
We told her that we have been observing our cats whenever we put collars on them and it happens to be their first time. If we notice that the collar and bell bothers them, we remove it immediately like with Paprika and Dark Knight.
They need to wear collars and tags because it's how Filinvest and Southwoods Admin identifies who are the cats under our care. Important details such as name, location and if already spayed and vaccinated are printed on their tags. Their vaccination cards are all the time prepared. When accidents happen, through their tags, kuya guards could inform us right away.
Their tags have helped a lot of our missing cats too. Best example is Choco who have been missing for more than a year. But because of her tag, we got her back. Cutie Eyes, Snoopy, Pooh, Bryce, Don Don, Astra, Shy Girl, Cola, King, Starling, Melody, Raspberry, White Corn and just recently James and Melon shake are some who found their way back to us because of their tags.
The bells on their collars are there for a reason. It could save their lives. If not for Sweetheart's bell, we wouldn't know she's stuck on the ceiling. If not for Yi's bell, the maintenance personnel wouldn't know there's a cat inside the duct. His meow was already weak. He haven't eaten for days.
Their bell also helps us know where they're hiding during typhoon season. It helps us find them quickly so we can rescue them and bring them to the foster home where they could stay for awhile.
❤We don't put collars and tags on them because it looks cute but because it could save their lives.
