Hi, everyone. I thought deeply before making this post.
We are on our knees. And I don't know how we can keep standing anymore.
Shelter of Light started with nothing but a strong heart and a dream — to save the ones very few even looked at.
We had no money, no safety net, no big support behind us. Just love.
And for some time, it was enough.
Behind the scenes, it has always been just me.
I’m studying.
I’m working 12–16 hour days, picking up sidelines, anything to survive.
I’m caring for the rescues — feeding, cleaning, rushing to vet appointments, staying up all night when they’re sick.
I have sacrificed everything I could.
And today, it’s still not enough.
Earlier, the management of the clinic we go to sat me down. They told me we can’t bring any more rescues unless we are able to pay for them in full. They have been endlessly kind to us, and we are grateful for that.
But reality is here now. And it’s heavy.
On top of everything, our own relatives threatened me and said that they'll make sure our rescues will be gone.
We barely have enough funds as well to sustain the food and other needs.
I can’t even explain how all this feels.
Because these rescues — they’re not just animals.
They are family.
They are the only ones who keep me here, alive.
Please understand: Most of our rescues cannot just be adopted out.
They are seniors.
They are disabled.
They are sick.
We are their only home.
We are their only family.
And now, even that is slipping away.
Shelter of Light is closing.
It breaks me to say it.
I am begging you:
If you can donate even a little, that would matter so much to us.
If you can share this post, maybe — just maybe — someone out there can help us keep on.
I’ve tried so hard to carry this alone.
I’ve tried to stay strong.
But today, I have to say it —
I am out of strength.
But I am not out of love.
Deep inside, I am still clinging to hope, to faith, to the possibility that all our efforts are not in vain. That we will be seen.
