Magandang araw nga ka-manok!

Bakit mas marami ang babae kaysa lalaki? Or minsan mas marami din ang lalaki kaysa babae?

Kapag gumagamit ng natural brooding (broody hens), ang inisyal na genetic s*x ratio ay nananatiling 50/50, ngunit ang mga kakaibang pag-uugali ng inahin at ang kondisyon ng kapaligiran ay maaaring makakaapekto sa kung gaano karaming lalaki o babaeng sisiw ang nabubuhay para mapisa.

TANDAAN!!! Ang mga babaeng embryo ay bahagyang mas matibay kaysa sa mga lalaking embryo.

1. Kung marami ang itlog, ang mga nasa outer edge ang madalas nalalamigan na naging dahilan ng pagkamatay ng embryo.
2. Ang isang inahin ay umiikot ng mga itlog nang iba kaysa sa isang mekanikal na incubator. Maaaring magkaiba ang reaksyon ng mga embryo ng iba't ibang kasarian sa pisikal na stress ng hindi tamang pag-ikot kung ang inahin ay hindi mapakali o walang karanasan.
3. Ang mga natural na pugad ay nakakaranas ng pabagu-bagong halumigmig batay sa katawan ng inahin at panahon. Ang mataas o mababang humidity ay maaaring magdulot ng mas mataas na embryonic mortality, kadalasang mas nakakaapekto sa kasarian.
