'I AM HEART-BROKEN AND ENRAGED TO HEAR THE MAULING OF KILLUA'

Senator Grace Poe expressed anguish and disbelief over the brutal killing of a Golden Retriever named Killua.

In a statement on Wednesday, Poe shared that she proposed a law to further safeguard animal welfare in the country following "numerous reports of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment of animals."

"It is envisioned that they shall work hand in hand with the corps of Animal Welfare Enforcement Officers (AWEO) from non-government organizations, citizens' groups, community organizations, and other volunteers who have undergone the necessary training and have been deputized by the Department of Agriculture Secretary as well as animal welfare enforcement officers from law enforcement agencies," she added.

As of press time, the bill is currently pending in the Senate Committee on Agriculture.

Fur parent Vina Rachelle decried the cruel death her pet Killua suffered under Anthony Solares who allegedly did the act in "self-defense."

She shared on Saturday that they "found his lifeless body inside a sack."
