A life-threatening emergency, resolved through endoscopy. 🩺🐾
This patient had a foreign object lodged in the esophagus, causing an obstruction that required immediate attention. Thankfully, it was successfully retrieved through endoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure that allows safe removal without the need for surgery.
This case is a reminder that many everyday household items can be dangerous when swallowed by our pets. Always keep small objects, bones, toys, socks, strings, and other potential foreign bodies out of their reach.
If your pet suddenly shows signs of gagging, repeated swallowing, excessive drooling, regurgitation, difficulty swallowing, or loss of appetite, seek veterinary care immediately. Early diagnosis and treatment can make all the difference.
Prevention is always better than cure. Keep potentially ingestible objects away from curious paws and noses. ❤️🐶🐱
