🔎 𝗔𝗡𝗢 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 (𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜), 𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘 (𝗠𝗜𝗖)?

Ang Certificate of Meat Inspection (COMI) ay ibinibigay kalakip ng imported na karneng nagmumula sa mga awtorisadong cold storage warehouse (CSW) ng National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS). Ito ay katibayan na ang imported na karne ay dumaan sa antemortem at postmortem inspection ng mga awtorisadong meat inspectors sa pinanggalingang bansa, at ang karne ay nagmula sa mga bansang pumasa sa pagsusuri ng mga eksperto mula sa NMIS at Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).

Ang mga karneng kinatay naman sa ating mga lisensyadong bahay-katayan at poultry dressing plant (PDP) ay may kalakip na Meat Inspection Certificate (MIC). Ito ay sertipikasyon na ang karne ay dumaan sa pagsusuri ng mga lehitimong meat inspectors dito sa Pilipinas.

Mahalaga ang pagtitiyak na may angkop na sertipiko ng pagkasuri ang karne upang matiyak na ito ay ligtas kainin ng tao, at walang dulot na anumang banta sa kanilang kalusugan at kaligtasan, gayundin sa kalusugan ng mga lokal na hayop na pinagkukunan ng supply ng karne ng ating bansa.

Anumang karne, lokal man o imported, na walang kaukulang sertipiko ng pagkasuri ay itinuturing na “hot meat”, at mapapasailalim sa pagpapatupad ng kaukulang batas ng lokal na pamahalaan o ng National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), ayon sa Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines.

🔎 𝗔𝗡𝗢 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗚𝗔 𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗚 𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗦 𝗞𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗬 𝗡𝗚 "𝗛𝗢𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗧"?
Ayon sa 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, sinumang magbebenta, magbibiyahe, mag-aalok o tatanggap para sa pagbebenta o pagbibiyahe ng “hot meat”, tulad ng karneng walang lehitimong COMI o MIC, ay maaaring maparusahan ng pagkakakulong at/o multa.
Ang sinumang mapapatunayang nagkasala ay maaaring:
👉 Multang mula ₱200,000 sa unang paglabag; ₱300,000 sa ikalawang paglabag, at ₱500,000 sa ikatlong paglabag at tatlong (3) taong pagbabawal sa operasyon ng negosyo.
👉 Kumpiskasyon ng produkto.

🔎 𝗔𝗡𝗢 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗞𝗘 𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜 𝗢 𝗠𝗜𝗖?
👉 Kumpiskasyon ng produkto;
👉 Multang ₱200,000 sa unang paglabag, ₱300,000 sa ikalawa, at ₱500,000 sa ikatlo at pagbabawal sa operasyon ng negosyo ng tatlong taon sa ikatlong pagkahuli, gayundin sa mga susunod pang pagkahuli.

✔️ Tiyakin na ang karneng binibili, binebenta, o binabyahe ay may lehitimong COMI o MIC.
✔️ Kumuha o bumili lamang ng karne mula sa mga lisensyadong meat establishments o tindahan.
✔️ Maging mapagmasid at i-report sa kinauukulan ang kung may nalalamang paglabag sa batas na ito.

Ang NMIS ay kaisa ng bayan sa pagmamatyag at pagtitiyak ng ligtas na karne para sa lahat.

The Pasay City Veterinary Office has strongly denounced the recent malicious, defamatory, and baseless Facebook post falsely accusing our office of practicing the “tambutso killing” method as a means of euthanasia for impounded animals. This accusation is nothing but false information and lacks any factual basis.

The City Veterinary Office of Pasay City never used, nor will it ever use, “tambutso” or any inhumane methods for handling or euthanizing animals. We strictly adhere to the Bureau of Animal Industry’s guidelines.

Under the strict guidance of our Local Chief Executive, Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, all animal control and handling procedures in Pasay City are carried out only by trained personnel, aligned with the Animal Welfare Act (R.A. 8485, as amended by R.A. 10631) and the guidelines established by the Bureau of Animal Industry. Our goal is to ensure the humane, ethical, and lawful treatment of all animals. Additionally, our Animal Control Facility is duly accredited by the Bureau of Animal Industry.

The Facebook post currently being shared is misleading and aims to damage and taint this office reputation while inciting public outrage through false information. The post and its author have falsely accused this office of engaging in criminal and unethical conduct, which constitutes cyber libel under Republic Act No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

We will take all necessary legal actions against the individual or group responsible for spreading false and defamatory content. We will not tolerate any attempts to malign our office or our personnel, who have consistently served the citizens of Pasay City with dedication and compassion. We urge the public to exercise caution and verify information only through official government channels.

The City Veterinary Office is committed to improving animal welfare and promoting responsible pet ownership in the community. Additionally, we aim to ensure public safety by implementing programs that adhere to both national and local regulations.

As part of the 32nd Meat Safety Consciousness Week and the 53rd National Meat Inspection Service, themed “KARNENG LIGTAS AT SAPAT, TUNGO SA MASAGANANG BAGONG PILIPINAS,” the Pasay City Veterinary Office conducted a Food Safety Orientation for Meat Handlers from various food establishments in Pasay City.
