Facts not fiction!
Like any hobby or interest you need to find your own way if you never develop your way you will never succeed 👌
1/ how much time or money do you have for your hobby ? This will be your biggest decision!
2/ is your hobby going to be for your
A/ own enjoyment
B/ on a small scale medium or large ( to my self there’s nothing wrong with either)
C/ will you try to make profit from your hobby?
3/ what do you hope to achieve from your hobby
A/ will it be a short term thing
B/ or a life long passion.
4/ what level are you going to fit into with your hobby A? Like many hobbies they come with fellow hobbyists (single ,friends ,clubs ,groups, businesses )
5/ how rewarding is your hobby going to be towards your self and your wellbeing?
6/ will you let your hobby take over your life
( again many get obsessed with his or her hobbies and it can become overwhelming to one’s life or even health)
Just a few facts to be aware of enjoy what ever path you take👍

Cage size what is best ?
Some birds produce and look happier in small cages some seem to prefer larger cages ?
Our greys my no1 pair are housed in a cage 8 feet x 6 feet x 4 feet ( this pair seem to stress out in the smaller cages ?)
Our no 2 pair breed in a 4feet 4 feet x 4 feet cage and seem happier in this size.
So I guess I just comes down to what your bird or pairs prefer ?
You tend to see breeders posting the size cages they prefer to house his or her birds in and I guess it comes down to what works for that individual 👍
Over the years I prefer to experiment on individual pairs if the pair in question are compatible and interacting well together I leave them alone.
If the pair are bickering or arguing more offtern than not a different cage seems to help?
Like wise our no 2 pair of greys we have never seen them mating and they definitely don’t like seeing other birds hence the reason we house this pair differently?
Happy breeding

Hand rearing !
Messages have blown up of late.
1/ hand rearing products are so expensive? YES THEY ARE👍
2/ making your own hand-rearing formula’s ? Why not most large breeders do HOW as a rule of thumb natural whole grain ingredients with minimum or no preservatives 👌
Don’t forget your little extras healthy bacteria’s vitamins calcium ect.
3/ ive found over 40+ years the most important factor is your heat ! Why heat simple I want to see my chicks using all its intake into growing not using its intake to staying warm? ( invest in a brooder not a light bulb👍
4/ best way to know what your doing is down load growth carts on the species your rearing! Use this as your guide if you can match it your doing fine
( would be best to down load a few as some tend to differ)
5/ underfeeding leads to sick unwell babies over feeding also lead to problems ?
6/ the most important is do it your way as at the end you only have your self to blame.
7/ also every important is your feeding temperature ( I like 36.9/37.0 from start to finish ) feeding cold mix = problems
Feeding to hot = problems
Happy hand rearing

Training pet birds ?
Heaps of people ask best way they should train his or her pet birds!
I’ve never thought of my self being a pet bird trainer sure Ive had pet birds most of my life and the only advice I could give is.
1/ repetition lots of repetitive tasks.
2/ rewarding and disciplining your bird eg when your bird is doing well and behaving reward them and when your bird is misbehaving disipline your bird.
Rewarding = treats pets kind word ect
Discipline = never hitting or hurting your bird maybe returning it to its cage and maybe covering it ?
Birds are very intelligent and soon work out why the rewards have stopped.
3/ always looked at trading birds very similar to training your dog slow gains ! You’re going to have good rewarding days you will also have your bad days!
4/ your bond is the most important between you and your bird.
I often see free flyers on videos something I’ve never tried but in all videos I’ve seen is the bond the owner has with their little feathered friends ( that bond would not come quickly I imagine long hard days have played there part to build such a bond )
5/ not giving up on your goals 100% it’s not easy but 100% the rewards will come if you willing to put in the hard work and long hours.
6/ aggressive behaviour ( biting loosing focus flying away ect ) best just to stop the training never any sense in flogging a dead horse leave for another day 👍👍

Tip of the day !
Sourcing good reliable racing pigeons and being competitive?
1/ always buy proven flown birds👍
2/ always purchase from a competitive flyer👍
3/ don’t worry about pedigrees it’s only paper👌
4/ you need a flying system ( training and racing) that suits YOU👌
5/ follow the basics but never copy 👍
6/ true fact you buy rubbish and you will fly rubbish 💩
7/ purchase good proven flown birds and your loft will be strong and competitive as long as you look after them ⭐️
8/ try to compete against the best ( the stronger clubs) weaker clubs only produce weak pigeons 💪
Good luck enjoy your birds hope you come 2 nd 😊

Making money !
With my birds ?
If I really need money I go to work👍
Birds are a hobby and hobby only sure we get a return!
Some times a very good return some times a low return!
Birds are like cars motorcycles dogs most depreciate in value but it good fun owning them 👌
Any breeder that recommends you to invest is lying to you?
I recommend you buy and enjoy what ever it is you only live once as they say🐣
Visitors offtern comment here while visiting us you must have spent millions? I couldn’t honestly say what we have spent I guess a lot ?
We don’t look at our collection as $$ value we look at our collection as pets family things to enjoy !
Being very fortunate and having a very well paid job I think or look at it as a reward for my efforts!
So 100% breed birds for enjoyment satisfaction ect
Do not breed birds for $$$$$$ and returns!
Just a little free advise 👍
