A few years ago, I archived almost all my watercolor floral artwork posts because I kept hearing advice to stick to just one niche. So I chose calligraphy.

But… I’ve come to realize that I don’t have to limit myself.

I enjoy both. I love painting florals. I love doing calligraphy. And sharing them together brings me joy.

Sometimes we hear so much about what we should do that we forget why we started creating in the first place.

So here’s me, bringing back my florals because they’re part of my journey too. 🤗🌸

From engineering to calligraphy, I never thought I’d last longer in a creative job than I did in corporate. 😄

But here I am, 5 years in teaching, creating, and sharing what I love most.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it.
Because I love what I do.

Had the best time during yesterday’s watercolor florals online workshop! 🌸🎨
It was Ms. Jeane’s first time doing watercolor florals and she did so great! 👏🏼

So grateful she joined and allowed me to be part of her creative journey.

We painted a wreath and a bouquet for the final project and of course, added some beautiful calligraphy quotes too! 🤗

Just sharing some old calligraphy pieces I made when I needed to let something out.
Some of these quotes came from moments when I didn’t feel okay and writing them helped me process what I was feeling. ☺️

Calligraphy has always been my way to express myself, especially when I couldn’t quite say it out loud.

I didn’t learn calligraphy to start a business.

I started because I needed a creative hobby.
Something to help me relax after a very tiring day at work (hello engineering days 😆).

What surprised me was how calligraphy became more than just a hobby. It became a way to express what I was feeling, like stress and anxiety, through writing. 😌

Now I get to share that joy with you and help you start your own lettering journey. 🤗
